I stayed up the whole night staring at my own reflection, not moving an inch. At about seven in the morning, I hastily grabbed badagesand bandaged up my whole face, leaving holes for my mouth, nose, and eyes. It didn't take long before I was drawn to the mask again. This time, I noticed something that I never saw until now, a tiny blue button next to River's name. I pressed the button and a gem appeared in the left eye hole of the mask, it was an emerald. None of this made any sense because stones like that only existed to humans, so how is it possible that I could see them? I popped the emerald out of the eye hole with my thumb and index finger and instantly put it into my pocket. Unsure why I moved before I thought, I took the emerald out of my pocket again to inspect it. I felt the smooth rock in my hand as it glided across my skin. How could a rock be so valuable and why could only humans see it? A few minutes later, I realized that every stone means something spiritually. The emerald is coincidently used for stress, which I have about ninety nine percent of the time. I assumed that when I pressed that button again, it would either not do anything or it would make another emerald again. Both of these predictions were wrong. Just like with the emerald, a different stone came out of the left eye hole. This one was red, but I had to look it up because I only know about a few gems, since only humans can see them and they're not well known. After I did a bit of research, I figured out that it was called a ruby. A long time ago, people would name their daughter Ruby, to tell her that she is worth a lot to them. Knowing the power that these stones hold, I took our some copper wire and wrapped it around the gem to form a necklace. First, I made the necklace out of the emerald, but when I put it around my neck, my pajamas I was wearing, completely transformed into an outfit including a green cape, a metallic green bodysuit, emerald rings, and an elastic green pair of pants.

I felt something in my right pocket and I took out a small book. Inside the book, was spells formed with dark or black magic, what we call for forbidden spells. It's true that some people like witches and warlocks can use spells, but they can only use them in self defense. If anyone ever gets caught using forbidden spells, they'll be executed immediately and without question. After a few moments of being astonished from how much a single gem could do, I attempted to make a necklace out of the ruby. However, when I put it on, nothing happened, so I thought that I made the necklace wrong and remade it, but it still didn't work. Then I realized that I was still wearing the emerald necklace, and I thought that the power from one stone could counteract the power of another, so I took off the emerald necklace and layed it on the countertop of my dresser. Even after everything I could thing of and try, nothing worked, but I looked inside the mask again and there was a silver switch that replaced the blue button. I flipped it on and a whole contraption formed from out of the mask, there was a rectangular container that was sectioned off into twenty five squares, five columns, and five rows, just large enough to fit the gems inside. Something else came out from the mask too, a hologromatic document of the stones that I've discovered. A voice came out of the screen saying that I found two stones and that I still had twenty three to find. I thought that all of this was a complete practical joke that some kid planned and was trying to be funny, that was until the next thing the voice said, if I didn't find all of the stones in the next month, the punishment would be death, but every day I go without finding a gem, no matter what, the consequence would be increasingly more fatal every single time.

At this very moment, I realized that almost an hour had gone by and it was nearly eight o'clock in the morning, so I took off the necklace an had returned into my original pajamas. I got dressed as fast as I could, I put on a black shirt and a dark purple shirt with my hair dyed purple, too. After I finished getting ready, I put the mask and stones in my bag. On the way to school, it turned out that I don't think a bus driver is coming to a bus stop anymore, so ours picks them up. Even though there were many people on the bus, no one was paying attention, so I pulled out my emerald necklace, put it around my neck, took out the book from my right pocket and found a spell to turn off the security cameras in the bus just by saying a few words and not touching them at all. We got to the school and I headed to the auditorium, but I didn't say a single word to Emily, even though she was sitting right next to me. I was too interested in the stones I found and was closely inspecting each necklaces I made. Emily asked what I was doing because she didn't see anything, so I put the necklaces in my backpack and said nothing. No one could figure out about my discovery because if I really was part human, it could lead me into some seriously dangerous territories. As soon as I got to my homeroom classroom, I dropped of my coat and my backpack on a table. I immediately went downstairs to the main office, where the dean was yelling at two students and Maria was waiting off to the side. After a moment, I realized that the chaperone wasn't there yet and neither was Eve, which made me worried. We spent about thirty minutes waiting, in which random teachers in the hall tried to talk to us, and then Eve came down and almost right after that, the chaperone from the first day arrived with the child from the first day. However, we had to wait a bit for Eve to drop her things off.
