500 years ago, the world was normal. The United States of America was at peace. of course, there's never truly peace now is there? There were several deterrence and fights, but never a full-blown-out war until the president of the United States had assinated, killing the Korean leader's daughter.
The United States had their allies so did Korea. The war grew and civilians died. However, that was little distortion to what happened when the war became nuclear. The world was never the same. Millions turned to thousands. Then dwindled to hundreds. We grew but not so much as to not take sides.
People elected their leaders the ones they truly believed in. Eventually, there became fifteen nations. They squared off land over the earth. Allies were made and some nations became one. Now and for fifty years there have been five nations total.
Algeria a nation near the water. A beach is what they would call it back then. Mawal a nation that thrived in the forest where the trees held their homes. The other two were the most vicious. Bescle was the first nation that was held in the Arctic. Their blood was as cold as the temperatures they thrived in. Fietere being the second they were truly revolting. They were barbaric and showed no sides of trucing with us. Their nation was what you will call the dessert. Their skin was brown and rough. They were much stronger and held a different physic than my people.
My nation is called Kenya. Our home is a magical place filled with forests, lakes, and rivers. My father and mother are the leaders. We lived as one. We treated everyone with respect and listen to advisors . Which I felt fondly about us. However, the Fietere our sworn enemies did not. They had hierarchy and stations. Like a combative unit. All in all my people hated them. So, when their leader declared war we weren't surprised. This battle would finally dictate who had total control.
"Gear up" my father ordered. Our guards ran around flying past me. I shook my head taking a breath. My father held my cheeks looking at me with a worried look. "Do you want to stay with your mother" he said with a hesitant tone. My back stiffened and I leaned into his hand.
"Our people shall fight so will I". My father smiled proudly "Gear up" he spoke softly.I nodded then ran upstairs. I went to my room looked at the wooden bed and drawings on the wall. I move to the corner grabbing my sparing gear. Strapping down my vest and protective arm pad I was ready. I slipped my sword behind my back and ran out the door. Down a few hallways I saw the maid's worried looks.
My eyes narrowed on my mother out of the heap. Once her eyes landed on me she moved through the maids who were actually guards."Honey," she said hugging me. I breathe in her comforting scent. She let go slowly looking me over. "You're fighting" she swallowed. I stayed silent feeling guilty. Mother never liked me fighting. She didn't want me to use a sword which is why she taught me strategy. Intellectual intelligence is better she concluded.
"Go. Please just try not get hurt" she choked. I wiped her tears " I promise, Mama". We gave each other one more hug and I left her. The maids would take her to a secret passage which would put them at the stronghold underground. Where our children and women were also held.
I went down numerous steps and hallways. Finally getting to our army. My father looked at me from the steps where I stood. He nodded for me to take my place in front. "Are you ready?" he asked. I look at my people and back at my father. "FOR KENYA" I yelled raising my sword. The army repeated screaming the same.
My father chuckled and we ran ahead. Two of our men open the gates and I watch the battle that was already before me. Our first unit battled the Fietere luckily we were about to bring our second and third. We began fighting I slashed a guy's throat then stuck my sword through another guys eye.
I could see their leader and Commander. My father being fifty meant nothing. He was gliding through men slicing them quickly. I was proud and hoped one day to be the leader he was. To focus on my father I got knocked to the ground. A muscular man punched me and I griped at his arm. I clicked my heel on the ground causing a knife tip to come out the top of my boots. I kicked him stabbing him in the back.
He fell to the ground and I pushed him off of me. I continued fighting getting closer to where my father battled their Commander. Their leader sat on horse over looking the fight. He looked to be about my father's age with a long gray streak running through his hair. His eyes were red with dark hue bags. He looked like he about to die. But the commander the guy my father fought looked young. His hair was dark, wavy and he had a muscular build.
However, that did not matter my father was going to win this fight. We would go back home and join Mother. Things will go back to normal with him training me and teaching me about the ancestors. I got a few feet when I saw the Commander pierce my father with his sword.
"NOOOOOO" I yelled running towards my father. Before his body could hit the ground I caught him. I held him in my arms brushing back his thick long hair. He coughed up blood then smiled at me. His eyes closed and I looked up. Glaring at the man who just killed my father. The Commander stilled and stared at me with an expression I couldn't decipher.
"RETREAT" He roared to his people.
Why did he retreat? Please vote and comment!
