(I am truly ashamed for how long it took to get this chapter out. But I have no true excuse. But enjoy it.)
Felicia
One of the very few royal guards rushed past the library. Making me look up from the book I was reviewing. I have been reading over what my friend has been working the afternoon on. And as Colin said, a lot of history. I did find that there are a few major events he missed. But they are of little importance right now.
Ah right, the guard. I hear a set of talons scraping against the stone floors. Not a sound I'd wish to hear twice. A dragon's head rounds the corner.
"Miss Bellator?" He calls, a bit wary.
Since I don't know him I force a more formal tone, "Yes? What is it?"
Slightly rushed he says, "King Phoenix has requested you and 'Colin' meet him in the throne room."
Seeing that he's waiting for a response I nod my head, "I'll be there in a minute."
Satisfied, he runs off.
I take a few moments to somewhat organize the mess Colin made. Didn't take long and when I thought it was good enough I left the room. Walking through the halls I start to wonder why we're being summoned. Though I quickly stop the thoughts. Since in our situation it could quite literally be anything.
With a huff I round the corner that leads to the throne room. Colin and Infitus are talking in the center of the room. Phoenix talks to some of his soldiers. Those dozen probably being a majority of his guard.
"Felicia!" Colin shouts when he spots me, beckoning me over.
It takes a few seconds but I finally get within a comfortable distance.
Dad has his head turned to me, "I have been updating Colin on what I told Phoenix about what led to us fleeing here."
Colin is standing next to me now, "Felicia..." His uncertainty instantly making me put focus on his words, "Some things have come up."
He pulls a small object from behind him. I recognize the metal object. Though it has lost its shine since I last saw it. Gosh it's been a while since Colin's house. But didn't his gun get lost in the bunker?
I'm pulled from my confusion by dad, "It seems that our sanctuary might be compromised," I feel my heart drop.
"A few minutes ago this was dropped from above. It appears this 'Armada' has found us. But from what I hear he might help us. Yes?"
Colin answers, "That's what I hope."
Infitus sighs at his word choice, "He's better than Thorn at least. Or so I'm told."
"The real problem is if Thorn truly does know we're here. It will leave us with few options."
Phoenix walks up to us, "Are we ready?"
Infitus nods, starting to walk towards the exit of the castle, "Felicia bring Colin."
I get on my stomach so Colin can climb onto my shoulders. He still isn't used to it. So it takes a moment. But he gets his leg over me. Hoisting himself on. Once he tells me he's good, I follow the others out the door.
Phoenix has four guards escorting him to the hole that leads to the surface. The others follow behind us.
The minute flight to the platform leading to the gateway was uneventful. Not a word was spoken. I heard my friend tampering with his gun, making many clicking sounds.
