Flora

It's been two weeks since we last spoke and I still felt her absence. I wanted her and she was playing games. I looked for her at work and on days I did see her she paid me no attention. I sighed. I hated this feeling. What could I do to get her back? Two weeks has been long enough. I had to do something. That night while me and mom ate, I thought and thought and thought to the point where my mom had to bring me back to reality.

"What's on your mind girl?" My mom asked.

"Huh?"

"You've been moping around here for the past two weeks. What's going on with you? And I thought you was moving out."

""I was supposed to."

"What happened with that?"

"Me and Melissa not on speaking terms right now so I decided not to take the apartment."

"What happened between you two?" I sighed.

"We just got into an argument, and we just need a moment to cool off from each other."

"Two weeks isn't a long enough time?"

"According to her it's not." I sighed again.

"You never seemed this torn up when you and Tara got into it."

"It's different with Melissa."

"How so?" I found myself sighing again. "Keep breathing like that and you're going to hypervinolate." I laughed at that.

"Mom how do you really feel about Melissa? I mean with her being gay and everything?"

"I have no problem with gay people Flora. I ever give you that impression?"

"I just never seen you interact with gay people before."

"That don't mean that I have a problem with them. You just never seen me interact with them. What's going on between you and Melissa?"

"Nothing." I couldn't meet her eyes.

"I noticed how touchy feely you were with Melissa the last time she was here." I popped my head up at her.

"You did?"

"You were never like that towards Tara. I saw the difference with how you treat Tara opposed to how you treat Melissa."

"She said that you would notice." I sighed again.

"Just tell me what's going on between you two."

"Well, you remember when I went on that vacation with her?"

"Yeah." I watched as she leaned back in her chair and folded her arms across her chest and stared at me.

"Well..." I paused.

""What about this trip?"

"She took me on that trip so that we could spend time together. She knew how I felt about being seen by anyone I knew because..."
