The night descended upon Chan's dorm, casting long shadows across the room as the soft glow of lamplight danced on the walls. Jeongin stood by the window, gazing out at the twinkling city lights below, lost in thought.

The gentle hum of conversation filled the air as the other members of Chan's dorm returned from practice, their laughter and chatter mixing with the soft strains of music playing in the background. Despite the cheerful atmosphere, a sense of unease lingered in the room, overshadowing the warmth of their fellowship.

"Jeongin-ah, are you okay?" Chan's voice broke the silence, pulling Jeongin from his daydream. He turned to see Chan watching him with concern, his eyes filled with genuine care.

Jeongin offered him a faint smile, though the weight of his thoughts pressed heavily upon him. "I'm fine, Hyung. Just lost in thought."

Chan nodded, though he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. But for now, he chose to let it go, trusting that Jeongin would confide in him when he was ready.

As the evening wore on, Chan insisted on cooking dinner for himself and Jeongin, wanting to ensure that his friend was well taken care of. With practiced ease, he chopped vegetables and seasoned meat, the rhythmic clatter of utensils filling the kitchen as he worked.

Once the food was ready, Chan set the table, placing a steaming plate of food in front of Jeongin with a gentle smile. But as he watched Jeongin hesitate to eat, a pang of concern tugged at his heart.

"Is everything alright, Jeongin-ah?" Chan asked, his voice soft with worry.

Jeongin forced a smile, pushing aside his own doubts and fears. "Yeah, I'm just not very hungry right now. Thanks, though."

Chan nodded, though the furrow in his brow betrayed his lingering concern. "Alright, if you say so. But if you need anything, just let me know."

After dinner, Chan suggested they watch a movie together, hoping to lift Jeongin's mood. They settled on a lighthearted comedy, the sound of laughter filling the room as they shared jokes and stories.

As the movie drew to a close, Chan noticed Jeongin's eyelids growing heavy with exhaustion. With a gentle smile, he guided Jeongin to his bed, tucking the blankets around him with care.

"Get some rest, Jeongin-ah," Chan murmured, his voice soft with affection. "I'll be right here if you need anything."

Jeongin nodded sleepily, his heart warmed by Chan's unwavering kindness. As he drifted off to sleep, he felt a sense of peace wash over him, knowing that he was safe and cared for in Chan's embrace.

And in that moment, surrounded by the gentle rhythm of Chan's breathing, Jeongin allowed himself to believe that everything would be alright.

Love y'all xx
