Published: March 30th 2024As Chan walks to the Dorms, he got past beautiful Tulips, White ones to be exact. They reminded him of the younger boy, he smiled by the thought of Jeongin. He quickly snapped out of his thoughts, picked up like 5 Tulips and continued his walk.
Arriving at the other Dorm he opened the door, with the spare keys he got. (A/N leader things). "Hello?" Chan spoke in a normal tone "Oh, Hey Hyung. What brings you here?" Minho asked coming out of the Kitchen. "I wanted to look after our Maknae, you know?" "Oh yes right.. he's been really off these days Chan. I'm getting worried, he won't talk to one of us three." Minho said referring to him and his other two Dorm Mates (Felix and Seungmin). "Yeah.. I know.." The older responses sighing. "Well I hope you have success, I'm off to some extra practise." And with that Minho is gone, leaving Chan alone. Putting his jacket and shoes away the leader makes his way to get a vase for the Tulips he got for the boy he thought about by looking at them. As he put the Flowers into a vase Chan goes to the room from Jeongin.
As he knocks, Jeongin on the other side of the room was startled by the sudden noise. He didn't expect someone to be home, since all his Hyungs left for some extra practise, even tho they have a day off they just like to practise for fun, after what he knows. Wiping his tears and collecting himself he answered with a shaky voice "Come in."
The door opens revealing a smiling Chan. "Hey innie, how are you?" Asking in a soft tone "Hi Hyung, I-m fine, but don't you wanted to practise with the others, why are you here?" slowly looking up the smaller asked. "No, don't worry about that now. I've thought about spending my time with you today, since we have been seeing us less times these days. How does that sound Jeongin-ah?" Sighing Jeongin thinks about it. Spending time with Chan? He would love that, but Chan never misses some extra practise. It just doesn't sit right with him, he doesn't want to be the reason Chan misses practise just because he can't pull himself together.
"I dunno chan.. You never miss practise. You don't need to spend time with me, I know that I'm just a burden." "A burden? Jeongin-ah who told you this" Asks a now furrowing Chan. "What do you mean..?". Chan frowns even more, he knows that Jeongin is playing dumb, he knows the boy.
"Yang, you know exactly what I mean. Know answer my question, please. Why do you think you're a burden." He repeats himself, more strictly this time. Jeongin sighs, getting slight nervous at the tone Chan uses, besides from the fact that he called him by his last name "Nobody did. You just never miss practise. You're always so organized and worryfree. I just don't like the thought that you're just staying because of my own stupidness." "So you're the person telling you that you're a burden am I right?" Chan asks now more calm again." The room becomes silent as Jeongin does not dare to answer the question. He knows Chan is right, but he knows he's to stubborn to accept it. "You know that they say no answer is a answer too right?" The older breaks the silent stating a simple fact, which Jeongin can't deny, it's the truth. Jeongin sighs again "Maybe.." "May I ask why you think that?" Chan speaks softly.Chan sits down next to Jeongin, his expression gentle yet determined. "Jeongin-ah, I understand that you're going through a tough time, but you're not a burden. You're part of our family, and we're here for you, no matter what."
Jeongin lowers his gaze, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "I... I don't know, Hyung. Everything just feels so overwhelming lately. I feel like I'm letting everyone down."
Chan reaches out and places a reassuring hand on Jeongin's shoulder. "You're not letting anyone down, Jeongin. We all have our struggles, but that doesn't diminish your worth or your talent. You're an important member of Stray Kids, and we need you just as much as you need us."
Jeongin sniffles, a tear escaping his eye. "But what if I'm not good enough? What if I can't live up to everyone's expectations?"
Chan shakes his head gently. "You don't need to live up to anyone's expectations except your own. We believe in you, Jeongin. And I believe in you. You have so much potential, and I know you can overcome whatever challenges come your way."
Jeongin looks up at Chan, his eyes filled with uncertainty but also a glimmer of hope. "Do you really mean that, Hyung?"
Chan smiles warmly. "Of course, Jeongin-ah. I'll always be here to support you, no matter what. And together, we'll get through this."
As Jeongin leans into Chan's embrace, he feels a sense of comfort and reassurance wash over him. Maybe, just maybe, everything will be okay after all.
