Chapter 2: A Mountain Meeting and a Train ride

Hey, readers. Listen to the video whenever. I just LOVE the song, so... yeah. The girl is Gem, and the dragon is Evanna, just so you know. I'm trying to put in a lot of people's POVs, just so you know. In this story, there will be a LOT of Fairy Tail couples that I love, so.... yeah. Oh, and when you have the chance, reader-chan, look up animegirl31, ok? Good, she is a friend of mine. She wrote a lot of stories, and needs people to read her Fairy Tail and Blue Exorcist One-Shot book. If she finds out I advertised her book, she will either kill me, or hug me. Ok, enjoy!!

Gem's POV

I sat on the edge of the mountain, swinging my legs that were over the edge. Evanna, my mother who just happened to be a dragon, was out hunting. The sun was going to set in a few minutes. I was right outside of our cave of crystals. There were people who would do anything for a dragon's hide. I toke a deep breathe of the beautiful mountain air, and sighed, pulling my legs up to my chest, and staring at the gorgeous sunset. I heard someone- no a few people, not just one -coming up the mountain trail. I looked down to see two boys around my age coming up the mountain. One was blonde, and was wearing an outfit not meant for the cold mountains, the other had longish black hair and a cloak. I gasped, and they looked up. They were dragon slayers, they had to be! Normal people couldn't hear that well. They started climbing up the cliff. I scrambled away from the edge, standing up in the process. I went into the cave and hid in the crystal part, praying they wouldn't find me with their sense of smell. I calmed down my breathing, and my beating heart. I heard footsteps in the cave. I toke deep breathes. They were amazed, I could tell. Mom made this, being the one and only Ice and Crystal Dragon. One approached me, and I held my breath. He looked past the giant shard of crystal I was behind. His blonde hair was more golden and darker than my blonde locks the went to my middle back. I screamed, and tried to get away, surprisingly slipping. He grabbed my arm, keeping me from falling and getting away, and held tightly.

"Rouge! Over here!" He called.

The boy with black hair approached. His eyes were crimson, which terrified me even more.

"You have to leave! Now!" I exclaimed. "A mother dragon will do whatever it takes to protect her young!"

The blonde crouched down, making me sit with him. He had a soft look in his eyes. "What do you mean? There aren't any dragons, other than the one we were told to slay. Are we talking about the same one?" his voice was gentle.

I nodded quickly. "Yes! That's my mom! She's just out hunting and will be here any minute! You both need to go! Now!"

The blonde's eyes widened, and he chuckled. "Whoa whoa, whoa! Calm down. Who are you, anyways?"

I toke a deep breath. "My name is Gem. I'm a dragon slayer. Who are the both of you?"

At the mention of me being a dragon slayer, their eyes widened. Both this time. "You-how-Uhh-but-so small-how?" the blonde stuttered.

The black haired one chuckled dryly. "I'm Rouge. This dumbass here is Sting. But seriously. You? A dragon slayer? What kind?"

I giggled at Sting, "Ice and Crystal. You?" then I remembered, and gasped. "You two have to go, now! You seem really nice, but my mom really is a dragon! I can fly you down the mountain, but then you have to go! My mom, she gets over protective, especially because of what's been happening lately..." My voice trailed off.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and looked up to see Sting looking really serious. "What's been happening lately. Come on Gem, talk to me"

I sighed and began to explain. "Hunters. They found out about mom. They came to our last cave and destroyed everything. So, we left. They attacked us again in this town and we accidently destroyed the Mayors home when they shot mom and she fell. We flew to these mountains, and found this giant over hang, which mom made smaller when she made what we are in right now, making the cave bigger. We've been here ever since, prepared to leave when ever, but I'm not fit for travel." The boys looked at me, confused, and I sighed, unfurling my white and blue, scaly, dragon wings, each twice the length of my arm. One was wrapped in bandages. "I'm injured, as you can see. Now, one of you, hug me."

They looked at me weirdly. "What?!"

I sighed, "I'm gonna fly you down. Don't worry, it's healed enough that I can fly up the mountain, and slow our falls, now just do as I say. Please?" I gave them my puppy eyes, and they gave in.

Sting walked up, wrapping his arms around me. I flew up, not having any trouble, as Rouge watched in amazement. I smirked, and flew to the bottom of the mountain. Sting screamed like a little girl. When I got up to get Rogue, we heard an earsplitting roar. Mom. We looked across the overhang to see a white dragon land.

"Oh, no." I whispered.

Mom wasn't herself after the hunter's attack. She was cruel to anything, except me. When something tried to attack us, she eliminated it, and I couldn't stop her. Ever. But, this time, I had to.

Erza's POV

We, Wendy, Carla, Levy, Mira, and I, were just arriving at the train station. The dragon sighting was in Clover, so we were taking the train there. Since the girls and I live at Fairy Hills, we were walking to the train station together. We arrived, to see everyone but Gray there. I sighed. He has become more and more distant after Juvia and Lyon's wedding. He was heartbroken, and had confessed to Juvia right after Lyon proposed. That's how he found out, and we did when Juvia showed Lucy her ring. Wendy ran over to Gajeel and Natsu, who were already getting sick. Gray hasn't been fighting with them lately, either. I was worried about him.

After a few minutes, Gray finally showed up, looking tired. We all had our tickets, the dragon slayers weren't throwing up, we were good. We got on the train, and Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus were looking pretty distant. I sighed again. Did Levy and Lucy reject them? No, they wouldn't. Everyone knows that they love the two slayers. But, Laxus... Wendy and Romeo were talking happily, so where Mira, Levy, and Lucy. Happy was trying to give Carla a fish and win her love, Gray was sadly staring at the window. Gajeel, Natsu, and Laxus began to talk to each other in low voices. I couldn't hear what they were saying. I closed my eyes that began to get heavy, leaned back in my seat, and fell deep asleep....

Gajeel's POV

Shrimp was talking to her friends while I was stuck helping Natsu explain Dragon Season to Laxus. Natsu and I both knew his mate was Mira. Natsu's mate was Bunny Girl, and mine was.... Shrimp. Wendy had to wait at least 4 more years for her to go into season. She was only 12. No, I don't count the years from Tenrou Island.

"So, Dragon Mating Season is when you find your mate, and Mark him or her. If you Mark Mir-your mate before season, you don't go into season. Ok?" Laxus nodded. "Good. So, do you know who your Mate is?"

He mumbled, "No."

"Mira~~" Natsu sang softly, earning him a smack on the head from a red Laxus.

"I know, I know. Geez." he muttered under his breath.

"Gihi" he tried to smack me, too, but I dodged.

"Wait - what about Wendy?" Laxus asked.

"Dragon Season happens every two years, and It only happens to dragons and slayers, including their mates, who have, um," Natsu cleared his throat. "Matured enough, so Wendy is safe. It is gonna take at least two more seasons for her to go into the season. We are all older than 18, so...."

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. So, um, what exactly happens in the season?"

All Laxus's questions were getting kind of weird. It's a mating season but, yeah, whatever. Sort of understandable.

"Well, the first thing that happens, is that you need to be near your mate, no matter what. Or, you get really sick or die. So, you tend to be a little clingy. Then, you don't let any guy - or girl, in Wendy's case - near your mate. You could hurt any person who this to get near them. Then, you will do anything to mark your mate. But, you try not to hurt them. If things get rough, so do you. Lastly, you mate with them"
