Nights are filled with tossing and turning, mornings consist of staring blankly at your breakfast and days go on with a variety of activities. Some, maybe most, aren't in your favor. You roam the woods when you're bored, bring a notebook and write down different things you see. Occasionally pulling weeds around the cabin, tidying up the house, you do many things to keep your mind busy. Other times, you are told or given hidden warnings that you have to go on what is called a mission and murder someone. You either hear the voice in your head giving you coordinates and a date, but no further information. Or, you just get a gut feeling. Maybe you look at a house you pass by while in town, and just know.

"You'll get used to it." Has been told to you by all four of them by now, and yet you have not adjusted. When they say this to you, you think deep in your head on how they're pushing themselves on to you, thinking of them telling themselves this. Because truly, no one would get used to taking peoples lives bedside's a psycho or sociopath. Someone who just, doesn't feel guilt. When you read Brian's body language, that's what you label him as.

Speaking of Brian, it would be wrong to tell of his current schedule, yeah? Brian occasionally leaves to go down to town and keeps stuff organized in the house, while Tim chops wood and cooks. He pretends to hate cooking, but every time someone complements it he smiles.

Toby is eighteen, so now he justifies his actions with him doing adult things. Brian got him a four-wheeler, and it's as if Tobies counting off of list of how many injuries he can get before finally dying (which is never gonna happen).

Kate, she takes her time with hunting in the woods and raising chickens out in the small barn. You collect eggs every morning and feed them some days, and care to the yard work. Your grudge against Toby has died down, sometimes the two of you joke about it. Tim says he notices that you've come around, and talk more than you used to. You'd agree with him.

But otherwise, Utah has treated you right so far.

The television in front of you isn't exciting enough, so you just sit sprawled out on the couch counting the different colors on the screen. You hear foot steps in front of the couch, and look over to see Kate going for the door.

You notice as Kate walks out the door without her boots on, making you quickly stand up and rush to the door. You watch her walk, swinging her knife as she comes closer to the woods with every step she takes.

"Kate!" You shout, stepping out onto the deck. She stops, and looks around, before she continues walking. She must've thought it was in her head, you growl as you go back inside and grab her boots. Looking back out the door, you can still make out her frame. Sliding on your shoes, you run in her foot steps to catch up with her.

Her steady pace matches your running, but eventually you catchup with her.  "Kate, you forgot your boots." You drop them on the ground in front of her, making her turn to look at you. Her pupils are large, and her mouth is a straight line.

With silence, she looks down at the dirty socks on her feet, and furrow her eyebrows. "I could've sworn I put my boots on." She mutters, reaching down to pull on her boots. You take a step away to give her space, and cross your arms.
