Author note: I know the last  chapter was a while ago but it was actually supposed to be the ending and be an open ending but I had so many comments saying to upload another chapter so here you go. I hope you enjoy it!

2 years later

Pete sat on the sand and closed his eyes. He breathed in the scent of salt and ferns as a soft breeze passed over him, ruffling his hair. He listened to the repetitive crash of the waves brushing against the shore and the rustling of leaves in the distance.

After everything that happened, he had decided to leave the country. Not only was it not safe for him anymore but he was just so tired. Tired of looking over his shoulder, wondering if something changed and waiting for another hitman to take a swing at is life, tired of working a job he no longer found joy in, tired of searching crowds of people for a single face, one that he knew, deep down, he would never see there.

Pete knew he'd see Vegas again one day, but it would be on his terms. If a guy like that didn't want to be found, he wouldn't be.

He had chosen to buy a small beach house in Florida, already knowing the language and not willing to give up the hot climate he was used to in Thailand. Leaving was easy for the most part, he had very few possessions to take and very few people that would miss him. His grandma had ushered him away affectionately, saying it would be good for him to leave, Porsche on the other hand took the news much harder but with Kinn's presence finally gave Pete his support. Pete wasn't entirely sure what was going on between them, but as long as his friend was happy, that's all that mattered.

That was a year ago and since moving here he had gotten a job as a chef in a local tourist restaurant, not what he would have pictured for himself, but he found he quite enjoyed the work. He still kept in contact with everyone of course, his grandma had even visited a couple of months back, but he couldn't bring himself to go back to Thailand just yet.

He was currently sat on the small plot of private beach he owned located behind his house. He sat here often, fingers running through the sand as he watched the sunset cast beautiful pinks and oranges over the horizon.

He grabbed his headphones and placed them over his head as he leant back on his elbows, pressing play on his phone. He got lost, as he often did, in the music and slowly closed his eyes, drifting away.

He wasn't sure when he fell asleep but when he awoke, he saw his headphones laid out on the sand before him and, to his surprise, felt smooth fabric against his face, rather than rough sand.

Half-asleep and out of it he felt a hand caress his hair gently.

"Shhhh. Take your time to come to Pete." Despite the situation, Pete felt increasingly calm after hearing the voice and relaxed back onto, what he was now coherent enough to understand as the stranger's lap. There was something so familiar about the voice though, but drowsy Pete couldn't quite put a finger on it at the moment.

He slowly became more lucid and turned onto his back and looked up at the other man. The sunlight obscured his vision at first but then his irises had time to adapt, and his brain had the time to place the face that was now staring down at him with a soft smile.

"Vegas."

"I missed you baby." The others deep voice huffed out. Pete had no space for other thoughts except "Vegas." He said once again, reaching up to cup the other's cheek, as if to see if the man was actually real.

As if reading Pete's mind, "It's really me." The other said and reached down to guide Pete into an upright position. Pete immediately melted into the other arms and allowed him to manoeuvrer his body until he was comfortably perched on Vegas's lap, one leg either side of his hips while facing the other man.

All Pete could do was lean forward and place himself in the crook of the other man's neck. "I'm sorry I'm late Pete, but I had to sort everything out first so I knew you would be safe. So, we would be safe, together." Pete just let out a little whine at that, still waking up and trying to process the sudden re-appearance of the man he loves.

"Baby please say something, I've missed your voice so much." Vegas whispered as if in pain and brought Pete's head away from his neck so he could look him in the eye.

Staring back at those deep brown eyes that had haunted Pete's dreams for the last two years brought his back to reality slightly. "I love you." Pete whispered against the other's mouth before crashing their lips together so Vegas could feel just how much he had missed him.

After what felt like an eternity, Vegas pulled back and softly whispered, because no one else should get to hear something so precious.

"I love you too."
