Inescapable

Part 2

Blaire POV

I wake up at 10:30 for my 11 biology class. I get dressed and check if Ivy's up. She slept through her alarm so I basically shove her onto the floor to make her get out of bed. We both finish up getting ready and I grab a granola bar before heading out the door.

When I get to the classroom there's a few people there but I manage to find a seat close to the back in the corner. I always try to sit in the back so I hurry out when class is over.

After about 10 minutes the professor walks in with the last few students. Most seats are taken but the one next to me is free. I set my stuff on it so no one tries to sit there. (Don't judge me I don't like many people)

The prof starts by introducing herself and pulls out the syllabus for us to go over. When we finish she begins quizzing us on random bio facts that students in this class should know. Thankfully I don't get called on and just sit and listen to the prof for the rest of class.

Paige POV

I'm currently in my biology class which I happen to share with Aaliyah (my teammate). I was a little late but spotted Aaliyah sitting toward the front so I decided to go sit with her. We talk quietly while the prof goes over the syllabus but she gives us a look so we be quiet. Then she started asking questions to the class.

When I look up to find a student who's answering a question I notice Blair in the corner by herself. She's watching something on her computer so she doesn't see me staring at her. Unfortunately Aaliyah notices and asks who she is.

"Oh she's just this girl I met at the gym yesterday when I was working out. I guess her friend is our new photographer so they were there taking pictures" I explain to her.
"Oh well what's her name?" She asks.
"Why does it matter" I respond still looking at her.
"Because I wanna know the name of the girl you're basically drooling over right now" she says smiling.
"I was not drooling I was just surprised to see her" I mumble back.
"Her names Blaire" I add quickly.

Aaliyah looks away satisfied and I turn back to the prof who is dismissing us early today since it's the first day. As we walk out I see Blaire frantically searching her bag for something. I tell Aaliyah to go ahead without me as I walk over to her.

"Uh hey did you lose something?" I ask as I reach her.
"No it's fine"she replies without looking up.
"Are you sure? You look pretty desperate to find something in there" I say.
She finally notices it's me and says "Oh sorry I didn't realize it was you Paige. I'm looking for my wallet. I thought I put it in my bag but it's not here."
"I'll go look in the classroom with you if you want" I offer. I don't really know why I'm helping her I have another class to get to soon.
"That would be great thanks" she responds walking back to the class.

We both look in the area around where she was sitting. I check the seats and arm desks while she checks the floors. I eventually spott the wallet in between two seats where Blaire had been sitting during class. I walk over to her and hand the wallet back to her.

"Thanks Paige you're a lifesaver. I'll owe you a favor but right now I have to get to my next class bye" she says quickly as she speed walks away.
"Oh it was no problem bye" I wave as she walks the other way.

I stand there for a few moments before I come back to my senses and rush to my next class.

Time-skip

I finally get to my dorm around 3:00 from my two classes of the day and begin to change for practice. I find Nika in her room also getting ready and we head over to the gym together.

Once the whole team gets in the gym the coaching staff introduces us to our new photographer and we all say hi. When we're done we begin practice with some warmup laps then start shooting and dribbling drills. When we get a quick water break I walk over to Ivy.

"Hey Ivy do you know if Blaire made it to her second class on time today?" I ask.
"Huh? What do you mean"she asks back.
"Oh I'm I have bio with her and she lost her wallet so I helped her find it but when I gave it to her she rushed out really fast saying she had a class to get to" I explained to her.
"Oh um yea she was on time thanks for helping her" she smiles at me.
"It was my pleasure" I respond as coach calls us back on the floor.

Blaire POV

I'm chilling at home eating takeout when Ivy bursts through the door yelling my name.

"I'm in my room what do you want" I yell back.
"You mind telling me why you decided to lie to the Paige Bueckers about your class schedule?" She asks dramatically.
"What how do you know about that you definitely weren't there" I say skeptically.
"Maybe because she walked up during practice and asked me if you happened to get to class on time. We both know damn well you only had one class today" she says loudly.
"Why would she tell you about that?" I wonder aloud.
"I don't know girl but what in gods name made you lie to her?" She asks more calmly this time.
"I don't know I kinda panicked. She was just being nice but I felt like I was going to say something stupid so I just made an excuse and left" I tell her sadly.
"I think you were nervous. Which is fine considering you just met her yesterday" she responds.
"Yea well I told her I would owe her a favor for helping me so we'll see what she wants in return" I say quietly.

I don't know if Ivy heard me or not about the favor but she doesn't respond so I just tell her I'm going to watch a movie and go to sleep. She tells me she's going to meet her parents for dinner since they live close to campus and to not wait up. I wave bye as she leaves my room and turn on The Hunger Games to binge till I fall asleep.
