Inescapable

Part 6

Blair POV

I wake up to Ivy bursting into my room and slamming my closet door open.

"Ivy what the hell are you doing? What time is it?" I ask groggily.
"I am graciously helping my best friend choose a suitable outfit for her not date thingy" she says with a smile.
"I so do not need your help with that I know how to dress myself" I reply.
"Yea but you need something super hot tonight. You can deny that you like Paige all you want but I know for a fact you at least think she's hot so you need to make an impression" she says as she tries to drag me out of bed.
"Ok ok pick something out and I'll try it on later. It's too early to try anything right now Ivy. Now get out and let me sleep" I say as I throw a pillow at her face.

*Time-skip*

When I wake up again I check the time and see it's 1 so I decide to get up and join civilization.

I go to Ivy's room to see if she's here but she's not so I go to the kitchen. I check my phone and see a text from Ivy saying she's out but she'll be back later.

I don't really have anything to do until later tonight so I guess I'll go grab a coffee and some breakfast/lunch.

I drive to my favorite coffee shop off campus and go in to sit down and relax. I order, get my ticket, and find a table to sit at. As I sit there I begin to observe the rest of the customers in the shop.

Ever since I was a child I loved to people watch. It was always easier than talking.

I saw a couple people working on their laptops and a few children with their parents. I noticed one of the kids sitting by himself looking lonely when his mother came over to him and looked to be comforting him. Seeing this made me miss my own parents.

I was from Oklahoma so I was pretty far away from my family. I missed being able to talk with my mom and mess around with my older brother.

Once I'd sat there for a while I finished my food and drink and went out to the car. When I tried to start the car it wouldn't start.

"No not right now car" I whispered to the car as I tried to turn the key again.
"Hey, excuse me do you need some help?" I heard come from outside the car door.

I looked out to see a guy standing by my car. He was dark skinned with black hair and green eyes. He was high key fine.

"Oh um thanks yea I could use some help I don't really know anything about cars if I'm being honest" I say as I step out of the car.
"You mind if I get in and try something with the wheel?" He asked.
"Sure be my guest" I reply.

He gets in the drivers seat and pulls my steering wheel up and down until the key slips in and turns. The car starts without a problem.

"Wow thanks for your help. I'm Blair by the way" I say holding my hand out.
"My name's Elijah and it was no problem" he says shaking my hand.
"Ok Elijah I've gotta go but here's my number I'll buy you a coffee sometime to thank you" I tell him as I write my number on a napkin and hand it to him.
"Alr well I guess I'll see you later Blair" he waved as I get in the car and drive off.

Later

It's around 7 when I really start to look at this outfit Ivy chose for me. The outfit consists of a light blue crop top with a white skirt , 2 white bows for my hair, and white shoes.

I actually liked the concept of the outfit but I wanted to change a one thing. The only thing I changed was the shoes. I switched the white ones for blue ones that matched the shirt.

When I was done I turned on the tv to wait until Paige got there. When I heard the knock at the door I got up to answer it.

Paige POV

When Blair opened the door I was speechless. She looked beautiful and she wasn't even fully ready yet.

"Hey Paige come in" she says closing the door behind me.
"Hey Blair you ready for this party?" I asked as I followed behind her.
"Um I guess? I haven't really been to one in a while but I think I'll have fun if you're there" she smiles at me.
(Was that flirty? I feel like that was definitely flirty)

Once we're in the we begin doing our hair and makeup. I help Blair curl her hair and she does my makeup for me. When we're done Blair leaves so I can change. I decided to wear a white crop top with jeans, black and white shoes, and a black cardigan to go over.

The party wasn't very far so we chose to walk instead of drive since we both planned on drinking. On our way over we took pictures together and talked about class and the season. I realized that Blair was a real basketball fan like she knew what she was talking about so we could have real conversations and I even asked her advice on some things.

Once we arrived at the house the alert was being held at I saw Nika getting out of her car. We walked over to her and I introduced Nika and Blair.

"Hi I'm Blair it's nice to meet you. I saw your game the other day and I wanted to say I thought you did great" Blair said to Nika as they shook hands.
"Oh hi I'm Nika I've heard a lot about you from Paige" she replies as she side eyes me.
"Ok I think it's time to go inside don't you?" I say as a drag them both by the wrist.
