"DON'T YOU FIND IT STRANGE? ONLY THING WE SHARE IS ONE LAST NAME."

it's your first day in japan after moving from (home country). your parents decided it would be a good idea to move, because most of the consumers of the L/N corporation live in japan.

your parents made a generous donation to UA high school so you didn't have to do any entrance exams, it's not like you couldn't pass them—it's just that entrance exams are very time consuming. and you have more important things to do.

you asked—practically begged your parents to put you in the hero course. you've looked up to heroes since you were a little girl.

"being a hero is a waste of time. it's better to take over the family business. you'll be much more successful that way." your mom told you. you hated how you had no control over your life.

the worst part is, you're always compared to your younger sister, (sister's name). when you were her age, you were getting mostly b's and a few a's. your sister has a's in every single class.

your parents always throw passive aggressive comments when your sister comes home with a good grade "i wish you tried as hard as your sister." blah, blah, blah. it's like your best just isn't enough.

but to be honest. nothing you do will be enough for your parents. they'll never be happy until you're 100% perfect.

"don't slouch."

"smile less, you'll get wrinkles."

"study more."

"crying shows you're weak."

you were walking in the halls until you felt someone bump into you.

purple hair. purple eyes. and very noticeable eye bags.

you noticed he dropped some of the stuff he was holding, he was about to pick it up himself but you stopped him.

"here, i got it." you picked up his notebook and some sort of tape scarf thing. ..what the hell is that. you thought to yourself.

"thanks." he mumbled to you.

"hey, i'm new here. do you think you could show me to class 2-A?" you asked the purple haired boy while handing him his stuff.

"you're in the hero course?" he tilted his head.

"no. i'm in the business course." you stated. you wished you were in the hero course.

"are you sure?..class 2-A is the hero course. let me see your schedule." he said while you gave him your schedule.

"it says right there that you're in the hero course." the purple-eyed boy showed you where it said that.

"oh, well that's cool." you had to contain your excitement. this has been your dream since you were a  little girl.

the boy walked you to your class, because he had to go the same way.

"so..what's your name?" you asked. trying to break the awkward silence.

"shinsou hitoshi. you?" he replied. you liked the sound of that name.

"i'm l/n y/n. what's your quirk?" you wanted to keep the conversation going.

"mind control. when i talk to someone, i can control them." shinsou responded.

"oh my gosh! your quirk is so cool. i wish i had a quirk like that.." you thought that sounded so cool. maybe if you had a quirk like that your parents would accept your dream of being a hero.

"my quirk isn't anything special. it's energy manipulation." you sighed.

"energy manipulation? what do you mean that's not special? that's bullshit." shinsou wished he had a quirk like that when he was growing up. he always got bullied for his quirk, everyone swore he was going to be a villain.

"oh, this is your class. see you, i guess." shinsou pointed towards your classroom, then walked to his class.

you were so nervous, especially since your parents don't know you were accidentally placed in the hero course.
