Karrah finishes making the drinks as soon as Keith, Ryan, their son kalon, and their friend Jude and her son Judah arrive.
Jude is really cool, she's a good singer too, and she knows a lot of the songs we're playing.
We are finally about to play volleyball so it's time to pick teams, of course gio and boat are the captains.
they stand infront of all of us,
"I got Mariah." Gio says,
I smile, skipping over to her side.
Boat nods, "Ryan." .
Gios team: Mariah, karrah, tashi, kai, jude.
Boats team: Ryan, keith, kehlani, camo.
"aight 6v5 let's huddle." gio says to us.
our team huddles.
"Okay, so who's like really good at this fr?" gio asks.
"I'm fye at this." Tashi says.
I nod, "she really is."
gio nods, "okay, i serve first, then tashi then Kai, then Jude, then karrah, then Mariah, aight."
why tf I gotta be last.. this girl.
"and if you don't think you can hit that ball over the net, just hit it up and one of us will save it, and remember, don't hit the ball twice, and if it goes out of bounds don't touch it, and if you don't know how to serve, watch me." Gio explains.
We all nod, then she tells everyone where to stand. And we can see boat doing the same with his team. These are the most competitive people I know.
we're playing with a beach ball so this is easy.
Our team wins the first round and boat claims it's cause we have more people, so we give him camo and we win again.
"yoo fuck no!" Boat says, "gio, let's switch teams."
she shakes her head, "no nigga, I won, I'm finna go play with my kids." she says, smacking her lips as she walks away.
I laugh, turning around and high fiving Jude.
"girll, we ate that!" She smiles as we interlock our fingers.
I nod, "ouu yk what we should do?"
she looks at me, "what."
"So, we already have group hangouts weekly, we should also have playdates for our kids if you're not too busy." I suggest, smiling.
"oh, of course! let's go tell Ryan and..." She says trailing off, forgetting the name.
"kehlani?" I ask, laughing.
she nods, "yeah!"
we go over to them, they're now sitting down, talking and looking at the kids play.
"they act like they weren't just tussling." I say, laughing as I sit next to kehlani, Jude sits on the other side of ryan.
kehlani laughs, passing me the lit blunt that I didn't even notice she had.
"stop bringing up the past ugly." she says.
i laugh, "you shut up ke!"
Jude and Ryan laugh, "y'all fight like sisters," Ryan says.
"guyss, y'all wanna do weekly play dates with the kids, or like activities like taking them to the zoo and stuff?" I ask, remembering what me and Jude were talking about.
