It was now 2 months(July-August) since our pair was kidnapped, their training was cut short with the new developments in Shanghai as the urban fighting enveloped the city in a hellfire, our main characters are now busy preparing to be deployed in secret, even though they are in uniform, the only thing our characters are able to do is shoot a bolt action rifle, "I miss my mother." Jiao said with sorrow in his voice, it had been 2 months since he last saw his mother, on the other hand Wei was busy helping pack supplies and ammunition, "Here I'll help you." the fellow riflemen helps Wei fix the rest of the supplies, "Thanks for the hand." replies Wei "No problem." says the man back "Say, can I ask, what's your name?" asked Wei to the Rifleman "We've been training together for 2 months and you still don't know my name?!" shouted the Rifleman in disbelief, "My apologies, it's just that training was short and I didn't get to know anyone that much in these past few weeks." Wei replied with apologetic intentions, "Well I'll have you know my name is Hao Jia Shi(郝嘉实), a pleasure to meet you mister-- Huh, I don't know your name as well." said Shi (实) as all this time he didn't know Wei's name in the first place as well, "You've got to be kidding me." said Wei disappointingly, Jiao came to help as well, "His name is Wei, I'm Jiao, a pleasure to meet you Shi." both men shake hands as they establish themselves from one another, meanwhile the staff sergeant begins making preparations to begin deployment into Shanghai just receiving orders from high command that Luodian is their objective, if the town falls into Japanese hands it would mean no security for Suzhou and Shanghai, the staff sergeant gathered the men in formation "Men of the Hupei army of National Revolutionary Army, today, we shall prepare for a major combat engagement in the outskirts of Shanghai, we must protect our beautiful city from the invading foreign devils, and end the war once and for all!" after the announcement the men were ecstatic, soon Jiao and Wei would visit the outside world the merchants were talking about after all, they couldn't wait to go to Shanghai, soon the men began their trudge to Shanghai, with the help of horse mounted bandwagons, they marched with their supplies over a 50 km route to Luodian, over the march they experienced a few set backs, Wei had accidentally dropped one of the buggies as he went to pick up a flower, subsequently 5 boxes of ammunition were spilled, in punishment the staff sergeant made him carry the heavy bandwagon filled to the brim with ammunition, but with a stroke of misfortune, the bandwagon got stuck on a ditch "Oh great Wei, nice going." Shi remarked in a snarky tone "Yeah a real nice one, eh Wei." Jiao added "Oh shut up you two, and help me lift it up this cart.", a few minutes later, another mishap had occurred, A cattle of cows suddenly blocked the 50km route, the Sergeant was dissatisfied with the route the central command gave them "I asked for a safe and proper route to Luodian, they give me this country-ass route!" complained the staff sergeant, in reality the actual route to Luodian was more gruesome as they would have to cross 2 mountain ranges to reach it, "Well sir, next time I'll ask them for a more adequate route sir." said the corporal, in no time the division arrived in Luodian and provided additional support to the troops already there, as they helped dig up trenches and defensive constructions in and out of the city, the worse was yet to come, as our pair and their new friend were about to face the Japanese army.
