Yuma and I stared at the door where the crime scene took place, we were feeling nervous at what we were about to witness
"The crime scene happened in the storage room on the third floor of the clocktower... So, it should be right behind this door" Shinigami said as she smoked out of a smoke pipe
"There may be a corpse still in there..." Yuma said looking a bit pale
"You've seen plenty of corpses on the Amaterasu Express. Now hurry it up!" Shinigami said
"How about you show some compassion instead!" Shiki shouted as he whacked Shinigami from behind with a paper fan
"Don't worry, Yuma. Whatever we'll face, I'll be here with you all the way" I said with a soft smile and Yuma's cheeks turned pink
"Thanks" Yuma said as he faced the door and placed his hand on the door handle
When he opened, we were greeted with a gruesome sight. The victim was a young woman, she was laying on the ground with nails hammered onto her body, the room was also covered with dolls and some of the dolls were hammered into the floor or walls
"What... is this...?" Yuma asked looking shocked
"I'm not sure... And I don't think this is a mannequin either" I said as I gripped hold of Yuma's coat
"This blood is... real?! How?! Why?!" Yuma asked
Geez! It's just some freakish, gruesome murder scene. Get it together! As your mentor, lemme just say that you'll come across this stuff all the time as a detective. So don't be scared, investigate! Hurry before the Peacekeepers come back!" Shinigami said
"Sigh... As much as I hate to agree, but she's right. For once" Shiki said
"Darling! You finally agreed with me on something!" Shinigami said as she was about to hug Shiki, but he tazed her
"Don't come near me, freak!" Shiki shouted as Shinigami fell on the ground with her ghostly body twitching
"Yuma, do you want to investigate the body or the room?" I asked
"Can I leave the body investigation to you?" Yuma asked
"I don't mind. Let's talk about on what we found later, okay?" I said
"Okay, and sorry" Yuma apologized
"It's alright" I said
"Also, any clues you or Yuma find will be recorded by me or the idiot" Shiki said
"It will all materialize once you get to the Mystery Labyrinth later" Shinigami said as she recovered from being tazed
"I don't wanna go back there anymore. Someone will die once the mystery's solved..." Yuma said
'He does make a good point...' I thought as I remembered what happened to the fake Zilch
Once we finished talking, I went towards the body while Yuma started looking the room
I knelt down on the floor near the body
'At least I know this is a real corpse and not a doll. Too bad we don't know the woman's name, the Peacekeeper's report didn't mention her name or any details. But she didn't deserve this, who or why would anyone do something like this?' I thought
"Mistress, I know you feel bad about the victim, the only thing we can do now is tracking down the real culprit and saving the boy's father" Shiki reminded
