On the walk home Paul wouldn't stop talking about how unlucky he was the whole day. "Y/n she was so cute and I just had to slam into the light pole! I thought only things like that happened in movies or cartoons!" Paul complained about the incident that happened on his way to meet up with you.

"Yeah that sounds horrible", you mumbled still thinking about Danny. He did not leave your thoughts did he? You would have also slammed into a pole if Paul hadn't pulled you out of the way. "Y/n are you even listening to me!" Paul whined. "Gosh you're so needy" you said to him and smiled.

You still had 5 blocks to walk home and by the 4th block you made Paul carry you for having to hear about his horrible fails all day. He gladly agreed. You walked Paul home, which was only 2 houses ahead of yours, and walked home. You finished your homework in the living room and made your way upstairs when you heard your mom call you from the kitchen. As you entered you mom told you to sit and told you to write down what she was going to tell you.

"Okay first thing's first is during the week your off from school a month and a half from now I'm going to Florida to investigate an alligator population decrease." Your mother was a zoologist and very well known in California. A client recommended her to someone in Florida and that's where we're at now. "I'm going to be gone the whole week and I need you to house sit. You can have Paul over for the week if you want so you won't be alone. I trust him, he better not lose it" she said sternly. "don't make me regret this decision y/n, I'm counting on you. Now hurry up and call Paul. I know you want to call him" your mom commented as you smiled and ran up to your room. She knew you so well. You did just that and could almost hear Paul's screams of joy two houses away. Of course his parents let him stay over because they trusted both of you would't do anything stupid.

The only sucky part about everything was you had to wait a month and a half. You started planning out the whole week, even though most of it required watching Neflix and probably sleeping in. It didn't matter. You finally got a chance to hang out with Paul more and got the house to yourself. Hours later you went down to eat dinner and talked about how excited you were for the week off. "Now remember what I told you y/n, don't mess it up." your mom said once again sternly. "I trust you" You smiled and hugged her "don't worry about it mom, you can count on me and Paul to take care of the house" Before she could say anything else you told her goodnight and ran upstairs. You couldn't wait to talk to Paul about the week off tomorrow. Most of all you couldn't wait to see Danny again.
