Hey sorry for the late update. I had no idea how hard it was to keep on track with updating when I first started posting novels here. Trust me, it's hard. (Also, couldn't find a chapter name, if you couldn't tell) Anyway, without a further of due, I present to you... the next chapter...
Flora POV
I saw the headmaster coming my way. Was I in trouble, what happened, does this have to do with yesterday?
"May I have a word with you, Agent Flora?" He politely asked.
"Yes sir." I said, and cautiously left the table. Making eye contact with Vicky before leaving.
Vicky gave me a, 'you got this look.' I left with Headmaster Vortex, worried beginning to stir in my guts.
I followed the headmaster, all the twists and turns of the building leaving me sick to my stomach.
Even though I hadn't been in the building in 2-3 years. I hadn't forgotten anything. I could remember the people in the highest classes, all the way to the lowest class people. I remember all the mysterious places in the hall that held secrets in each place. I remember all the moves, punches, and kicks to everything.
We finally got to his office. The walls were a shade of gray and the floor was just like black marble. The lighting was a white light, much to my annoyance.
As I sat in Headmaster Vortex's dimly lit office, the shadows seemed to dance ominously around us. His piercing gaze bore into me, making me feel like he could see right through my facade. The weight of his expectations pressed down on my shoulder, a constant reminder of the oath I had taken to this clandestine agency.
"I'm sure you know about the captives. You'd clearly know about them as they know about you." He said, his deep voice sending chills down my spine.
The mention of the captives sent a shiver down my body, especially when Helia's name was spoken. My beloved Helia, trapped in the clutches of the master alongside my closest friends. Every fiber of my being screamed to break free, to rush to their aid and fight for their freedom. But the chains of loyalty held me captive, binding me to a promise I couldn't break.
I finally snapped out of it.''Uh...yes, yes I do know them." I said, clearly out of it. I wanted nothing more but to run to my friends and the love of my life.
"Well, I wanted to inform you that the captives will be dealt with carefully. Meaning, they'll die. They're probably going to die..." He informed me.
As Headmaster Vortex discussed the captives' fate with a cold detachment, I struggled to maintain my composure. The conflict within me raged like a storm, torn between duty and love, between loyalty and betrayal. With each passing moment, the walls of secrecy around me felt suffocating, threatening to crush me under their weight.
I clenched my fist, my heart aching with the burden of helplessness. The knowledge that I was powerless to save those I cared for most gnawed at my soul, a bitter truth I had to swallow. And as Headmaster Vortex's chilling laughter filled the room, I knew that the price of my allegiance was higher than I ever imagined.
Stella POV
Of course. Bloom said not to worry, but look where that has gotten us. We're stuck in unknown territory, with a creepy looking man looking us up and down.
And my hair's a mess. Flora's gonna get it when I get out of here. My makeup is running, I look like a mess.
I don't wanna die looking like THIS.
"Flora's really going to get it. When I get my hands on her..."I began shouting and getting aggressive.
"Woah, slow down a bit. Flora might have a reason for all of this." Bloom said, trying to make Flora look a bit innocent.
