Osial hissed in the distance. Tartaglia's heart raced in his chest. This was wrong, it was all going wrong. He had planned it out for months, he had a duty to fulfil, and now it was all gone to hell. One of his massive heads scraped away a single dock with a fowl single swing - the sounds of screams and cries and pleas for help were unforgettable.
La Signora lay on the ground lifeless next to many others, locals, traders, travelers - each had their own story and voice, but now gone to waste. That wasn't supposed to happen. The Fatui weren't supposed to get hurt, neither was she supposed to be here.
What was happening?
Where did he go wrong?
Where was Rex Lapis?
"Brother, brother!"
... shit..."Teucer- Teucer, no, no, no- you're not supposed to be here, you're not allowed to be here-!"
Tartaglia finally forced himself out of his state of shock and raced to collect his Teucer.
They needed to go.
They needed to go now.
Tartaglia scrambled forward, nearly tripping over small stones and pebbles as he did. He ran. He ran and ran and ran. He ran like the currents of a river. He ran like how sailfish swam. He could hear his own heartbeat in his ears, but it didn't block Teucer's cries. None of it was processed, it was just screaming.
Osial continued to destroy Liyue Harbour, its heads screaming and wailing and roaring over Tartaglia. Tartaglia got a small glance at the boats either trying their best to swim away or towards Osial. Turned out Osial wasn't the biggest fan of being shot at with cannons, because while it stopped aiming for Liyue Harbour, it did drive its attention towards the ships.
One boat. Two boats. Three boats fell. All in a few seconds, Tartaglia couldn't focus too well when his arms clutched around Teucer tightly. He turned his eyes just in time to witness The Crux - the incredible ship of Captain Beidou - get slashed in half. He couldn't hear them, but he could imagine everyone on that cruise screaming. A would have died in the slash itself, a kinder fate than drowning.
Tartagila only watched for a few seconds before bolting away full speed, holding Teucer tight. Tighter than he'd ever held anything before. In all honesty, he might have been hurting Teucer, but he didn't have the time to care. Once they were out, out Liyue for good, it would be okay. They'd be okay .
"Antony and Tonia-" Teucer mumbled.
"What-? What about them? Where are they, Teucer?" Tartaglia didn't want to be mean, but he was in a rush, and if the other two were here it meant they too were in danger. Great danger.
"The big guy- I don't know-"
"How do you not- Archons- Teucer were they with you before?"
He nodded. Tartaglia spat out another slur.
"Where?"
"T-the docks, we wanted to look at the fish- they told me to run when they saw the big blue noodle, and I don't know where they went..."
...Teucer might have well ripped Tartaglia's heart out of his chest and fed it to a jackal.
His mind raced - they were dead. They were dead. His siblings were dead. His siblings just died. His siblings died because of him, it was his fault.
He let Osial loose.
He was the one who accepted the task of finding Rex Lapis.
Where in all of Teyvat was he?!
