"I can't believe I let you persuade me to do this," Lisa murmured, staring straight ahead, while trying to ignore the disturbing presence of the woman sitting next to her.

Keeping her eyes on the road, Jennie grinned, "It's not that bad. It's just a party." she'd been grumpy ever since she'd picked her up at her house. Usually she didn't like grumpy people. However, In Lisa, it was simply adorable.

"A party," Lisa scoffed, still not able to believe she'd agreed to go with her. And that after she'd ignored her calls for ten days. It had to be worse than she'd thought. She'd all but ignoring her for over a week, but one snap of her fingers and she came running like a love-sick girl.

Lisa had high hopes after their dinner in her house. She'd been so sure Jennie amused herself, that she'd liked being there. And then nothing happened. She'd tried reaching her, called her, left her messages. She hadn't returned one single call. Not one. And yet, she'd kept trying. Usually Lisa didn't need more than one hint to understand her attention was wanted, but it seemed where Jennie Kim was concerned hints weren't quite enough.

"Well, yeah." Jennie shifted the car into a higher gear, then pressed down the accelerator, a sure sign they'd finally reached the Highway. "It's a party." Not that she really wanted to go. But Rosé was coming all the way from England, using the opportunity to see her parents, visiting old friends, and she had practically forced her to come, too.

"A Highschool reunion," Lisa replied, shaking her head. She had to be out of her mind. Why on earth hadn't she told her no? Because she'd wanted to go, Lisa reminded herself. Everything was alright as long as she could keep her company. Even if it meant to go with her to a damned Highschool reunion. Yes, it was definitely a lot worse than she'd thought. Although she should've known it. There hadn't been a night these past ten days when she hadn't dreamt about her. In colour, and surround sound. One dream especially had her waking up sweating and aching – and forced her to take a cold shower in the middle of the night.

"You say it as if it's poison," Jennie grinned again. "My time at Highschool wasn't that bad. Actually, it was quite good. I was Homecoming queen once." She'd been a cheerleader, too. But she didn't want to brag, feeling that Lisa wasn't quite comfortable with the subject.

"Figures," Lisa muttered. It was only logical. Jennie was a gorgeous woman; she could easily imagine what a beautiful girl she must have been.

"Pardon?"

"Nothing." Lisa straightened in her seat, took a cleansing breath. her own Highschool days weren't anything she cared to remember. She'd still lived with her father, her stepmother, and Kai. And she'd hardly been able to wait until she was eighteen, which meant she could leave without asking her father's permission.

"So, tell me," she said finally, keeping her eyes on the road, "What did you do these last days? Any exciting new cases?"

Lisa knew she didn't intend to sound like her older sister, but somehow the way she had asked the question irked her. Obviously, Jennie was determined to remind her of their age difference any way possible. Trying to keep her own temper in check, she frowned, "No. Nothing. As I told you, being a PI is mostly boring."

"So, you said." Jennie nodded, sighed, "My week wasn't any better." Actually, it had been one of the worst weeks in her life. But she was determined to enjoy the evening, and not let an angry mother, and an even angrier ex-boyfriend ruin it.

Lisa was tempted to say it was her own fault for not returning her calls, but she bit off the words. Still, there was something she wanted to know. "Is the boyfriend back?"

"Yeah, as a matter of fact, he is," she replied, and Lisa saw her hands tighten on the wheel. She was back alright, and angry as Hell.

"Oh?" she turned her head slightly, "And why didn't you take him with you tonight?"
