After a long night at the bar I passed out in my truck. when I woke up I got out of my truck and puked in the woods which wasn't unexpected. Then when I got back into the truck I took the Advil out of my center counsel and took a pill to decline the pain in my head. I headed over to the hospital to see Ryder's progress. Once I arrived I walked up to his room and walked in. The nurses stood over him as I saw he was awake. I stood to the side as they did their job. They told me it would be just a second.
When they were done I walked over to his bed and smiled at him. He could barely keep his eyes open yet he was awake. It was obvious to me that his head was bruised and that his right leg was broken because it was in a soft cast. And that wasn't all of it. After an hour in the room, my phone rang. And it was my dad. I answered:
Me: hi
Dad: I'm sorry about last night. I'm on the road right now but I wanted you two know it wasn't right of me too say those things to you. Your a great kid and I defiantly regret all of that.
Me: wow thanks dad, I defiantly appreciate that. Well I have to get back to seeing how Ryder is. bye.
Dad: keep me updated. bye Bo.
Wow I can't believe he apologized. I walked back inside the room and I sit by Ryder. I kissed his head and told him I was going to get lunch. I went out side and drive to In and out burger. I still had my left over pack of Marlboro reds. even though I said I would quit I just need one so bad. So I pulled one out of the pack and put it between my lips. I kept my eye on the road as I light the end. When I finished it I threw it out the window and blew the smoke from my mouth.
Once I got my food, I headed back to the hospital. Ryder was wide awake and eating. I sat down next to him.
Ryder: you lit another one.
Me: what do you mean?
Ryder: I can smell it on you. We're quitting remember.
Me: ya sorry about that. No more I promise.
Ryder: ya
Me: how are you feeling babe?
Ryder: uh sore but the doctors said I can leave at 3.
Me: are you gonna stay at my house?
Ryder: of course. I defiantly want my sexy ass boyfriend taking care of me rather then my mom.
Me: haha.
He makes me smile.
