05:: Satomi's Sinister Tricks
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow across the quiet neighborhood, Mr. Park arrived at Jungkook's house to retrieve his children. The air was filled with a sense of familiarity, and the soft hum of cicadas provided a soothing background melody.
The doorbell echoed through Jungkook's home, the sound creating a ripple of tension that danced along his spine. A subtle sense of dread settled within him, prompting him to rise cautiously. Preparing himself to greet Mrs. Park, he adjusted the collar of his shirt and took a deep breath before opening the door.
To his surprise, it was her husband, Mr. Park, standing on the other side, a warm smile adorning his face. Jungkook reciprocated the greeting, masking any nerves that threatened to surface.
As Jungkook went inside to retrieve the kids, he handed a lively Minho to Mr. Park, who accepted the boy with a grateful nod. However, Minji, rather than approaching with the usual enthusiasm, quickly ran and hid behind her father, casting subtle glances towards Jungkook.
Mr. Park, noticing Minji's hesitation, inquired if the kids had caused any trouble. "Thank you for looking after them, Jungkook. Hope the kids weren't too much of a trouble," Mr. Park replied warmly. Jungkook, maintaining a calm facade, assured him that they hadn't.
Minji ran off, avoiding eye contact with Jungkook. Mr. Park offered his farewell to Jungkook, who reciprocated with a goodbye before gently closing the door.
The thought that Minji might be behaving in a suspicious manner never entered Jungkook's mind.
As they stood alone a few steps away from Jungkook's house, Mr. Park's attention was drawn to Minji, who held something wrapped in a cloth in her small arms. Curiosity etched across his face as he inquired about the mysterious object.
After a moment's hesitation, Minji revealed a doll, slightly oversized in her small arms. The doll possessed long, straight hair, a round face adorned with big, glassy eyes, and was dressed in a beautiful red kimono.
Perplexed, Mr. Park questioned the doll's origin, unable to recall purchasing such an item for his daughter. "Where did you get that doll from?" he asked. Minji, her eyes glistening, explained, "It's Jungkook oppa's doll."
"Minji, you shouldn't take things without asking. That's bad manners. Go give it back to him."
"Appa, please... I want it just for one day. I want to play with Satomi. She wants to play with me and you all too," Minji pleaded, hugging the doll closer to her chest. Mr. Park sighed, deciding to address the matter by apologizing to Jungkook and returning the doll the next morning.
Afterall, it's just for one night. Jungkook wouldn't mind, right?
"Promise me you'll apologize to him tomorrow for taking it without his permission?"
"I promise, appa!" Minji beamed, hugging her father's leg before hurrying home with her newfound treasure. In Mr. Park's arms, Minho clung tightly to his father's neck, eyes wide and teary. Confusion etched Mr. Park's features as he noticed his son's palpable fear.
Sensing something amiss, Mr. Park carried Minho home, the grip around his neck growing tighter. “Why do you look scared, Minho?” He asked, to which he got soft sniffles back as the reply.

Mrs. Park stood in the warm glow of the kitchen, the aroma of simmering stew filling the air as she moved gracefully between the countertops. Softly humming a tune to herself, she found solace in the familiar routine of cooking. Suddenly, a small thud caught her attention, and she glanced down to see a brightly colored ball rolling to a stop at her feet. It was Minho's ball, unmistakably his.
