The more that Charlie's greed grew, the more people didn't want to be around him. His cousins visited for the weekend and they said that they had a good time except that they didn't like how Charlie was acting. His parents didn't even bother with him and soon enough, Leah was his only friend.
Not just that happened when his greed grew, but as he got greedier, the more bad luck that necklace brought to Leah.
"Help, Charlie! Can you help me carry my books to class? I was late! I slept in and missed the bus then my mom drove me and the car broke down. Oh, I'm such a mess!" Leah was definitely overwhelmed. "Sure." Charlie said in a not so nice way.
"Give me that necklace!" Charlie yelled to Leah. "What? No. You gave this to me! Get your own, Charlie!" She called back angrily. "No! Leah. That is my own. Now give it!" He demanded. Leah walked away leaving the situation, keeping the necklace. And that was it. Charlie had no more friends. His greed for the necklace had overpowered him.
