For Every Moment, a Poem

The Ruse

I wish I remembered,

Remembered every time,

Our eyes connected,

Or your hand held mine.

With your loving warm gaze,

Your bright smile unfazed,

You give me your faith,

And unending grace,

In every moment close by my side!

There's too much to remember,

Of the wonderful life we've had.

You can see all the pictures,

the stories and our plans.

A long beautiful ruse,

I'm perfectly confused,

What did I have to lose,

It's you I'd always choose.
