Lady D's Southern Diner - Window Booth

Atlanta, Georgia

8:05 pm - 9:45 pm

Sitting in the booth of a diner in Atlanta, Georgia, a beautiful woman was looking out of the window, seeing the different cars pass by on the interstate, not interested in what life had to offer but feeling comforted by the blurs of the vehicles; going places and making the decision for themselves in either leaving or staying. There was a rush of adrenaline where people could come and go wherever they wanted, whenever they felt like going, just for the excitement of going and doing something spontaneous and worthwhile.

Caroline envied that. People who had never been or even seen anything before knew they had the chance and the respect to make their own choices and decisions without their loved ones hounding them. Sure, there would be concern, worry, and hesitation. Others will reject and degrade their choices, saying, "'It's a bad idea'" or "'You're making a big mistake.'" But, in every situation, one thing remains absolute: they let them go. Those people are free to make their own choices and live as they choose.

Those whom their closest friends and family respected trusted them to do what was best for themselves and not for anyone else.

However, this is different in the way that Caroline lives. She doesn't get a choice, free will, or the right to choose. You follow orders without any hesitation or complaint. You sacrifice yourself, your hopes, dreams, and others to save another. With Elena and everyone else, they were - always - a priority. But her, no. Caroline Elizabeth Forbes is always, has been, and never will be, the main priority for anyone she's ever cared about.

Caroline never got that opportunity because they all made that choice for her. They all decided what was the best thing for her in any choice without asking what she wanted. They repeatedly left her alone in the dust and never said anything about it. And she knew they expected her to go along with it, to accept it. And she did, at least, for a while.

Caroline Forbes was the Queen of Mystic Falls: she was - in a word - "perfect." Golden blonde, long, shiny, silky, smooth hair that reached her mid-back but still made it more manageable to work with than she thought. Blue eyes that are warm but tough, and if pushed too far, they're sharp, pointed, and can stare daggers into your soul, like how she is now with her humanity off. Her athletic, slim, toned, voluptuous figure made her desirable but vicious when needed. High cheekbones, a straight nose, flawless peach-tone skin, and full Cupid's Bow lips enhance her beauty from her oval-shaped head and face. Standing at 5'8", Caroline Forbes knew - precisely - what she wanted and how to get it—a force of nature.

She shakes her head, staring out the window, trying to gather her thoughts. "I knew it was too good to be true," she thinks. "I only wanted one year where I don't have to feel anything, but do I get the dignity of allowing me to make my own decisions? No. That honor's reserved for Damon's submissive little bitch, Elena Gilbert - and everyone else. Not for bubbly, blonde, insignificant Caroline Forbes," she said. Caroline continued to - mentally - rant about being passed over for everything and everyone. "And, like always, everyone follows Elena's every whim and after whatever she says. It's like they don't have their own minds or aren't capable of independent thought - Elena certainly forgot she's capable of that - and what's worse, Damon does whatever Elena wants, consequences be damned, which makes him pathetic. Predictable, but pathetic nonetheless." Caroline exhales a sigh she didn't know she held in.

She begins to reminisce about her life and personal experiences with that topic, especially when she was doing everything right for her loved ones; they never had any real purpose or intent in protecting her sanity and well-being.
