"Exceptions, the enemy of eternity." Commands the Shogun as she brings her hands up in a grand gesture, then sharply brings them back down in front of her chest as the violet electro emblem shined between her hands. A shining halo of purple light around her head. A bolt of blindingly bright lighting surged out of her and into the sky, and electricity blew back from her and tingled at my face. Lumine whipped out her sword.
"I'll buy you time, get the hell out of here!" She yelled over the noise.
"But Lumi-"
"GO!"I try to untie the rope binding Thoma's wrists again, but it becomes harder as my hand stings vividly from the pain.
"You will be inlaid upon this statue." I hear the Shogun say. When I glance back, the Archon had taken out her sword at well, and had purple strokes in front of her that looked like broken glass. These strokes quickly burst as she and Lumine dissapeared. I was paralized in confusion for a split second, before going back to trying to get Thoma free. I pick up my previously dropped kitchen knife and cut him free. He stood up and rubbed his wrists.
"Where did Lumine go?" He asked. I shrugged.
"Dunno, but there will definitely be more guards here soon." We turn to leave, but then we hear a loud crashing noise from behind us. Lumine was lying motionless on the floor.
"Wake up! Wake up!" Pleads Paimon, practically quivering as the Shogun looms closer. Thoma puts his arm in front of me and says,
"Get behind me,"
"No, Thoma-"
"Get behind me." He hisses. I look around frantically for something to stop the Shogun. My eyes fall on a discarded spear the guard dropped while getting hit by Lumine. I ran over and grabbed it, then reeled back and launched it at the Shogun. Sadly, it didn't hit her as she deflected it with her own spear that sent Lumine flying into Thoma who came flying into me.
"Oh my god, are you okay Emiko?" I can't tell who said that because my ears are ringing. My head slammed hard against the stone-paved ground when I fell and gave me a splitting headache. I felt as if I was going to faint. I willed myself to try and get up amongst my friend's concerns until it all faded to black.✩。:*•.───── ❁ ❁ ─────.•*:。✩
When I woke up, it took me a moment to analyze my surroundings. I was laid on a few pillows at Komore teahouse. I saw Ayato and Thoma talking in the corner of the room.
"Are we really going to do this now?" Says Ayato.
"Look, she needs a doctor. And that's far more important than my vision." replies Thoma.
"It's just a concussion, she'll be fine if she gets proper rest."
"You don't know this! Also, how could you let her go in the first place?!" Thoma was raising his voice.
"She saved you!"
"I would have been fine without the help of a fifteen year old girl! You should have stopped her! How did you not know she was doing this!? In fact, after the last incident, you told me you where going to stop keeping her informed about this stuff!" Ayato sighed and replied,
"What did you want me to do? I couldn't go, and neither could Ayaka. Lumine was willing to go and Emiko wanted to help so-"
"You let her go?! Might I remind you she is fifteen! She doesn't even have a fully developped brain and you are okay with putting her in danger?!"
"Thoma-"
"What are we going to tell her mother?" When I heard Thoma say that, I quickly sat up and yelled,
"OH MY GOD SHUT THE HELL UP!" I didn't realize how loud it was until both the men where staring at me in shocked silence. I continue, "PLEASE STOP ARGUING! CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!? WE COULD'VE LOST THOMA TODAY, PLEASE JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!!" I shriek as tears stream down my face. I don't want to fight, and all this arguing is making my head hurt. I just wanted us all to get along."Emiko? Are you okay?" I can't tell who is asking because my head is ringing again, but not for as long, or as much intensity, but enough to add to the tears streaming down my face.
"I-I'm okay. I'll be fine. Just please... stop arguing..."
"You didn't have to go after me, your lucky you're alive." Says Thoma, kneeling down beside me.
"It wasn't the plan. We were trying to get there before the Shogun but..." I can't continue, as my head is pounding out of my skull, but he understands.
