"Flowers and dinner, is this your way of lavishing me?" Aurie took strides as she stepped closer to him, her wide hip sway as she edged closer. Golden eyes glittering in the candlelight. Gingerly taking the rose from his grasp, dipping her nose in to give it a whiff.

Septimus grinned almost as fiendish as a wolf. "I figured I'd start simple. Getting to know you."

Her heart galloped in her chest cavity. He lead her to her seat pulling it out like a true gentleman, however Aurie didn't think he was. Her gaze continued to study him. She wasn't sure what sort of game he wanted to play and she still wasn't sure if she wanted to play in the first place. Watching him step to sit across from her was slightly entertaining to say the least.

"Well then...what would you like to know?" She reached for a chocolate soufflé carefully dipping her dessert spoon in.

"I guess we could start off with your home. Have you ever visited Paris often?" He grabbed a creme brûlée, gently shattering the caramelized sugar on top.

"I lived in Rouen with my mother and father. You may know Artorias and Laurent who brought me here, they lived in Paris. I visited them more when I was a child and then my mom never took me back there until recently. She and I would frequent Paris for maybe a week in the Summer, eating pastries and shopping for dresses." Maybe she was over sharing...why was she so nervous? Dates were usually easy and boring.

"I have met Artorias and Laurent, when both Avril and I visited Paris. Strange we haven't run into each other." He took a bite of his dessert pondering over his next question. "Your parents, what are they like? Are you close?"

Aurie's body stiffened at the question itself. How does she begin to express the complicities? "Oh, Merlin, that's quite a loaded question, however no. My parents and I hit a rift with an incident at my old school. It's why I am here, actually. I am glad though, I won't have to hear their incessant arguments."

Septimus liked how she was easy to read. He was still curious about her. She seemed elusive to him. He didn't understand what it was that drew him to her. What sort of spell was she casting? That's what it was right?

"Parents really are awful. I rarely see my own father and my mother," He paused, taking a breath to compose himself. "I won't even go over that subject. Please, tell me more about you, Aurie. Why are you here at Hogwarts? This incident...can you tell me?" The tone said he was trying to be sweet, the darkness in his eyes told a whole other story.

Golden eyes looked up to the sky in thought for a moment. She sighed, they were alone. Should she make that dumb mistake? Trust him? The last man she trusted...almost died...

Her eyes narrowed. "I won't say something bad I've done to anyone."

Septimus knew he had to work around that. Trust had to be earned. "You tell me and I will tell you. And after all, we are trying to get to know each other."

He sure knew how to manipulate a situation. Aurie sighed. "I may have poisoned someone out of spite, but he deserved it. I got a lecture and kicked out of Beauxbaton's."

His eyes widened in surprise, was that what drew him to her? Did they have similar interests? "You know it's almost fate, I poisoned Avril's mother. In truth it was her father's doing, I can't say I didn't slightly enjoy it. May I ask what kind of poisons interest you." He leaned a bit closer. His fondness became very apparent in his grey eyes.

Her eyes gleamed to a bright yellow color. She was always excited to talk about her plants. "In truth I'm in love with nightshades. Belladonna is probably my favorite. So...in truth I like plants."

"Interesting, I prefer animal toxins. I own a black mamba, the most venomous snake in Africa." He said it so, matter of factly.

"If it's animal toxin, I think I prefer a king cobra. The venom attacks their brain, if they can't use their brain they are practically useless. Not to mention I could be the smartest woman in the room after that." She laughed at her own joke, then licked her spoon clean.

"I rather like you, Aurie Cartier." Another wolfish grin. Sent a chill up her spine. "You're not like any of the other girl's here. They don't even hold a candle to your beauty."

Her cheeks heated up. She was rendered speechless. Almost tempting to strip naked and tell him to have her. The thought did cross her mind three times as they talked already. Her heart was loud in her ears. Yet, she managed to break out of it and shake her head.

"That's very kind of you to say, but I feel you're playing some sort of game here."

"Aurie, if you're so suspicious, why does it seem that you were eager to be here?" He tilted his head at her.

"I'm not sure...I don't know...I just..." She was fumbling for the right words. "You always seem to draw me in, somehow. Like a moth to a candle. Drawing me in and capturing me in your light. And I can't escape it." If she didn't realize the words that slipped from her mouth she would have thought he slipped her veritas serum.

"Come closer then." He still had his head tilted. And by the time in his voice it wasn't a request.

Slowly getting up she made her way over to him, he had a sort of hunger in his eyes that she couldn't resist. Soon enough the moth was going to catch fire and die. She stepped to his side.

"Close enough?"

He shook his head and patted his thigh. "Here, papillon."

She felt like screaming. She fought her body hard for not wanting to throw herself at him. Carefully sitting on one of his legs. "Oui?" It came out an octave higher than she wanted.

Septimus was itchy to touch her. He wanted to caress every curve of her bodacious body. Pull her raven black hair and taste her porcelain skin. To break her apart and ruin her. The sweet smell of lotus and pomegranate filled his senses. Gently taking her hand in his and pressing a searing hot kiss to the top of it. His eyes never leave hers.

She could only gulp down her feelings. An embarrassing heat rising between her legs. It was there since she saw him standing there, just now it feels more noticeable. She bit her lip. His lips trailing up her arm. To her neck. It sent more chills down her spine. The hold he had on her was suffocating. Her heart was loud. His lips touched her jaw and she couldn't help the whimper of pleasure that came out. He nipped on her ear, quite hard, erupting her in a moan. Aurie was getting massively overwhelmed by the feelings he was giving her and the pounding of her heart. She quickly got up.

"I..I'm sorry...I may have given you the wrong impression." Aurie backed away slowly before running off. She wasn't sure what she was doing. She wanted more, but her feet took her back into the castle and to the dungeons, leaving Septimus alone with his hand outstretched to where she was standing just seconds ago. Slightly confused on the feeling he felt in his chest.
