Part 8

Sam jumped out of Dean's assisting arms , snatched the knife that Damon dropped, and sliced Elena's head clean off in one breath. The world seemed to move in slow motion at that moment. They all watched the vampires emotionless head slowly topple to the floor. It seemed to fall for an eternity. In realization of the current events, Damon wept. "No!!!" he sprinted to Elena's limp body. Knowing that what would happen next was not going to be pretty, Dean grabbed Sam by his arm in shock and dragged him out of the mansion. Out the dungeon, up the stairs, through the halls, and out the door. They could still hear Damon screaming and crying for the loss of his loved one. On the way out the brothers bumped into a young man with dark blonde hair. The man only stared for a few seconds before running down to the hall to the dungeon.

Dean and Sam ran away as quickly as they could, not knowing where they were in the first place. Dean occasionally looked back at Sam who had no emotions on his face except a small grin but kept running until they found their way to the motel.
"Why did you do that?!" Dean was furious but also confused.
"Do what? Kill her? She's a vampire, Dean. Think of all the innocent lives she has taken. She's just another monster!" Sam replied.
"But we made a deal.. And you've been acting weird lately! My Sammy wouldn't do that. He would want to spare their lives out of the kindness of his heart and I would be the one to kill her. And what's about this vervain stuff?! Did you know about it?"
"Yes, I knew and so what if I'm acting differently!?" Sam lied.
Dean looked down and shook his head.
"And you didn't think to tell me?" Dean answered while packing up his and Sam's things.
"I didn't think it was important! Let's just go."
Sam stomped out the motel and into the drivers seat of the impala, slamming the door.
