Saika's Will

After meeting up with Yuki, the two of us began to explore the mansion, killing any infected we came across in the process. I let out a low sigh as I reload my gun. I turn to Yuki to see her wiping the blood off her knife. 

Y/n: You know... You're not half bad with a knife. You use it much? 

Yuki: No. Not to kill at least. But all I know is that if I don't use this... I'll die. So I just keep fighting and killing. 

I nod slowly. 

Y/n: Well, on the plus side, you don't need to worry about a lack of ammo. 

She smiles softly and nods in agreement. Before we can start moving again, dust falls from the ceiling above us. I look up and my eyes widen as I see the floor above us beginning to crumble! I shove Yuki out of the way and jump backwards just in time as the roof crumbled. Once it fully collapsed, I see debris completely blocking the path to Yuki. 

Y/n: Yuki! You okay?! 

Yuki: I'm fine! What now? 

Y/n: I'll try and find a way around. You do the same. 

Yuki: Okay. Be careful. 

Y/n: That goes double for you. 

I turn away from the fallen debris and begin to make my way downstairs to the ground floor. Strangely enough, when I reached the ground floor, there were a bunch of corpses littered all over the hallway. I frown. Curious, I inspect one of the corpses and see multiple holes, like it was a blast from a shotgun. Saika must have passed through here. I decide to follow the trail of blood and corpses before reaching the basement. 

Upon entering the basement, I see a tall infected humanoid covered in what appeared to be dark blueish pores. It growls as it slowly marches towards me. I'm about to shoot it down, but a gunshot rings out from behind the creature as it falls face flat. Looking behind the monster, I see Saika with her shotgun in hand. 

Saika: Good to see you're still kicking. 

Y/n: Likewise. I found another survivor, a girl called Yuki. But we can't get out since the front door is locked somehow. 

Saika: Right... Well I don't plan on leaving just yet. There's one more room I've not explored. 

Y/n: I'll stick with you for now then. 

She nods and turns away, walking down the hall. I follow after her until we reach a pair of giant double doors. There's an empty slot on each side of the wall. Saika hands me some kind of tablet. 

Saika: Put it in the slot. 

She says as she puts another tablet in on her side. I do as she says and the door opens. We raise our guns and aim them into the dark room, feeling something sinister lurking in the shadows. I take a deep breath before entering the room. Saika follows close behind me. As we walk deeper into the room, I notice the surroundings begin to light up a little more. 

Once we can fully see the room, I almost retch. The entire room was covered in blood and pores, as if this was the source of this strain of the infection. I shake my head and do my best to keep my vomit down. 

Y/n: The hell is all this...? 

Saika: I have no idea myself... 

Surprising the both of us, a pore-covered humanoid descended from the ceiling, their back still connected to the ceiling. Their hands were fashioned into some kind of fleshy blades. Saika and I immediately draw our weapons at the creature and begin to fire. It lets out screeches of pain as bullets connect with its flesh. It suddenly rises up to the ceiling and begins dropping piles of green pores that move towards us!
