Beethoven woke up the next morning, revealing this all to not be a dream. Nope... It was a nightmare come true.

Beethoven looked out from underneath the porch to see the Trentons had opened up one of their windows a crack for some fresh air.

Beethoven felt this huge weight of guilt on his shoulders, believing this whole thing was his fault. He loved his brother dearly, but it was hard for him to accept that Cujo had gone completely mad and his only motivation now was to kill.

And now two innocent lives were in danger. Why didn't the St. Bernard take his nightmares as a warning sign? It was something that would haunt him now for the rest of his life.

"Why didn't you get Cujo help sooner, you stupid dog!" Poor Beethoven told himself, trying to fight back tears.

Beethoven started to feel very warm all of a sudden before realizing he was panting. He looked up seeing the suns bright rays beaming down onto the yard. It had gotten so hot out, making it even worse for the Trentons since they were trapped inside the car to the point where it made conditions unbearable.

"Poor things" Beethoven frowned. "If only I could get some water"

Beethoven wished he could go out to find water for the Trentons. But he also didn't want to leave them alone at the mercy of his now rabid brother.

Donna was sweating quite a lot when she and Beethoven both watched Cujo come out and lie down near some old car parts.

"Get back in that barn, damn you" Donna whispered to the rabid St. Bernard.

Beethoven was thinking the same thing while watching from the porch. All he needed was just enough time to get the Trentons out of there before his brother could get to them.

Just then, the telephone rang from inside the house, getting Cujo's attention. The now mindless St. Bernard began to whine as he couldn't stand the loud ringing noises from the phone.

Donna noticed Cujo look back at her before taking a few more steps towards the house to get a running start, then charged directly towards the car. Donna quickly moved herself and Tad to the other side as Cujo headbutted straight into the door, leaving a massive dent.

Beethoven rushed out, seeing his brother desperately trying to reach in through the cracked window while Tad was screaming.

"Cujo, snap out of it! This isn't you!" Beethoven forcefully pushed his brother away from the car to protect the Trentons.

But Cujo obviously wouldn't listen and knocked his brother down, as his main focus was getting Donna and Tad. He ended up cracking one of the windows and even tore off one of the door handles. Tad kept screaming while Donna tried to keep him quiet, telling him that loud noises angered Cujo.

Beethoven tried getting Cujo away from the car as the two St. Bernard brothers ended up in a brief scuffle. But Cujo proved to be much stronger and faster now, thanks to the rabies.

Cujo forcefully shoved Beethoven to the ground before jumping onto the car and scratched at the windshield until finally, the phone stopped ringing.

Cujo came back down from the car to find Beethoven panting while lying on the ground, staring at him. Cujo's head was in pain from hearing all those loud noises. He looked at his brother and decided to walk away, as if telling him next time would be the Trentons last.

Beethoven frowned as he watched his brother leave. He could tell that Cujo was suffering but knew that once rabies took full affect there was no cure.

Beethoven looked to the car, hearing Tad cry saying how Cujo was the monster from his closet. Beethoven frowned, feeling completely helpless. Whenever he tried to intervene, Cujo would just find another way to let the Trentons' torture continue.

How was he going to stop his brother from terrorizing this poor mother and her young son? And if he didn't stop him, who would Cujo go after next? His friends?... His family?...

About two hours later, Beethoven was safely resting underneath the porch, keeping a close eye out for his brother.

"Where are you Cujo?..." Beethoven whispered, carefully scanning the yard but couldn't see his brother anywhere.

Beethoven soon took notice of Donna. She was growing very impatient for being stuck in a hot car, and who could blame her? Tad had fallen asleep and Cujo was nowhere around... She decided to take the risk and get out of the car.

Beethoven watched Donna open the door, careful not to make any loud noises. Very slowly, she got out of the car and looked around to see if Cujo was lurking nearby. Beethoven slowly approached the woman, not to frighten her. Donna saw the friendly St. Bernard come up to her knowing that he was on her side, but was still a bit scared. And she had every right to be.

Just then, Beethoven and Donna heard growling. They both turned around and there was Cujo staring right at them! Donna gasped in horror, backing away knowing she wouldn't have enough time to get away from the rabid St. Bernard.

Cujo lunged at Donna, but Beethoven was quick to jump in front of her giving her just enough time to open the door and get back in the car. But Cujo charged past Beethoven and into the car with Donna, jumping on top of her. Tad woke up screaming, seeing the monster attacking his mom. Cujo managed to bite Donna on the leg while she let out a painful scream.

"GET OFF OF HER CUJO!!!" Beethoven yelled forcefully biting down on Cujo's tail, using all of his effort to get him away from Donna and Tad.

Cujo finally had enough and jumped out of the car, attacking Beethoven now. Donna shut the door while the two St. Bernards went at it. Cujo was quick to get Beethoven on the ground, mauling him until Beethoven stopped moving. Now being tired out from that fight, instead of finishing him off Cujo simply walked away.

Poor Beethoven layed next to the car, being badly injured. He couldn't believe that Cujo, his own brother... Would try to kill him...

"Cujo... Cujo..." Beethoven's breathing was heavy while his vision started going blurry. "..... Why?"

Beethoven's adrenaline was racing while his head was spinning like crazy until he blacked out.

That night, Beethoven had made it back over to the safety underneath the porch. It was hard for him to lie down, or even move much for that matter due to all the painful bite wounds Cujo gave him.

Donna was tending to her own injured leg when she and Beethoven both saw Cujo come up onto the car hood before lying down on top of the windshield to go to sleep. Donna locked eyes with the rabid St. Bernard before whispering...

"Please, God, get me out of here..."

Beethoven frowned hearing Donna's plea, as he too wished this pain and suffering would end for all of them. Including Cujo.

With that, they all fell asleep into the moonless night.
