Minnie's POV
The aroma of roasted coffee beans wafted throughout the office, slightly overwhelming me. Bright, natural light shown on those that were in here as light chatter filled the room. Smiles were thrown between people, occasional winks, or flirtatious remarks as well.
The break room was quite busy today. I saw many people from multiple floors and professions in our company, all hanging out, enjoying the lack of the strict presence that Soyeon constantly puts forward. It was a more casual feeling, but no one was slacking off per se. Not one person was taking even a second more than the break time that they were given with their position. So it's nice to see that they still respect her, even when she isn't present.
It's been about three and a half weeks since we had saved Yuqi.
Yuqi still remains in the hospital, under the comfortable haze that is her coma. Luckily, the doctors are saying that her body is healing just as it should, so she is simply just getting all of the rest that she needs, and she will wake up. They joked that she was being stubborn and wanting a few extra minutes. Knowing Yuqi, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. After all, she has always been one to love sleep.
I began to pour myself a cup of coffee, adding in milk and sugar as well. I'm not a huge fan of coffee, I prefer herbal teas, but I don't have the patience to worry about steeping a tea bag right now. The coffee is much more convenient as there was already a pot that was brewed.
Fortunately, we are all able to see Yuqi now. Soojin was able to see her first because she is legally considered her family. Soyeon was able to as well, after telling that she was her girlfriend and some minor threatening of course. Just last week, we all got the okay signal to go and see her. She didn't look great by any means, but she no longer looked as pale and so close to death as she did when we had found her.
Speaking of those in the hospital, Shuhua is still there, too. She's always been a bit slow to heal, but she doesn't often get seriously injured, so that makes up for it. She was shot in the side during the rescue mission, and the bullet pierced through her left kidney. Luckily, Miyeon was at the scene and was able to extract it before any more damage could have been done. Shuhua is doing alright now and isn't limited to her bed anymore. She's in rehabilitation, learning to stretch her side again, and is getting better every day at walking for longer periods of time. Previously, it just hurt too much for her to take more than the necessary trips to the restroom.
She isn't having the best time in there, though. Whenever we visit her, she tells us how much she missed us and how crappy the hospital food is. And then she begs Soojin to bring her cooked meals, which, the older girl makes time to do, of course.
Those two are definitely dating now. They haven't told any of us yet, but I had tagged along with Soojin to visit Shuhua in the hospital two days ago. During our small visit, I had left to use the restroom, and when I came back, I caught the two of them kissing. I had never seen either of them so flustered, but it surely was something to experience.
The chatter in the room began to quiet down, and I looked up from my cup, seeing Soojin enter.
Soojin has been out of the hospital for a while now. Her injury should have taken a lot longer to heal. Actually, no, it should have killed her. However, Miyeon just so happened to have brought one dosage of the medicine that her and Soyeon had created. It's a medicine that speeds up your cells' natural regeneration but ends up wearing them out so it can't constantly be used over and over. Due to this, Soojin was able to hold on and fight for a little longer before eventually collapsing as soon as we had secured Yuqi.
"Hey Soojin, how was the meeting?" I asked the red lipped girl with a teasing smile.
"I don't want to talk about it," she glared, grumbling under her breath as she poured herself a cup of coffee.
