Today was going to be a good day. Or so you thought.

You had received news that your friend Muichiro was injured while fighting an upper moon demon all by himself.

When you got the crow message, you could pack your things fast enough, nor could your long journey pass any sooner.

Upon your arrival at the butterfly mansion, you quickly asked Aoi where Muichiro was.

"The one with the teal and black hair? Oh, he's in his own room. It's down the hall on the left." She pointed towards the room.

You quickly thanked her before running to the aforementioned room. Regaining your composure, you knock politely on the door. You hear a familiar voice say,'Come in'.

"Hello, Mui! How are you doing? Are your injuries healing up nicely?" You ask him after entering the room.

He doesn't say anything and just stares at you. His pupils dilate when he gazes at you. His cheeks even get a tad bit pink.

"Mui? Are you okay? You seem off." You give him a concerned look.

He is still silent as he stands up, walks over, and hugs you in a tight embrace.

You are surprised by his sudden action. He had never been much into affection. You hugged him back after coming back down to earth.

"I'm doing just fine, (N/N)." He finally speaks up.

"Really? Even though you went against an upper rank all by yourself? How are you even still alive?" You ask him, pulling away from the hug. However, he did not let go. "Umm, Mui, this is the longest you've ever hugged me. Is something the matter?"

"I'm not entirely sure how I won either. And why wouldn't I hug you? You've always been here for me." He stated.

You were touched by his words.

"Anyways, you should sit back down in bed. We wouldn't want Miss Shinobu to get angry at us." You said, guiding him back towards the bed.

"Will you stay with me during my recovery? Please, (N/N)?" He asked while grabbing your sleeve and giving you puppy eyes.

"Of course, Mui! I promise to stay by your side until you are done recovering!" You promised.

He smiled at you. "Hey, (Y/N), can I tell you something?"

"Of course! What's up?"

"I think that I have a crush on you." He states bluntly. You were shocked by his words.

"I-I, uh, umm." Your words wouldn't work. You were too busy blushing.

"I have another thing to tell you."

"O-oh, and what would that be?" You ask him.

"I love you." You couldn't take it anymore. You hugged him tightly, trying to hide your bright red face.

"I love you too, Mui." You tell him.

"Can I kiss you?" The mist hashira asked. You didn't even respond. You just kissed his lips softly.
