The Journey Part 2: Out With The MJ & In With The Aja

Chapter 2: Something's Not Right

Back at the castle with the gang. Ava was going to get a book for class when she walked past an empty room. "Was this room always empty?" Ava asked. "Yeah," Jade said. "But it feels like someone used to be in there," Ava said. "I know what you mean. I feel like this room has been more empty than usual," Jade said but continued on. Ava went in and saw a notebook on the desk. She opened it and read it. "Everyone and everything is connected. Nothing is separated. You are still yourself and don't ever change yourself to impress others. Fighting for others isn't wrong but always remember to advocate for yourself and your opinions. Sometimes trusting others can get into trouble but if you never trust anyone or yourself you can lose what is closest to you. So remember these lessons so you can do better than I did. I know I am most likely long gone by the time you read this but I couldn't leave without telling you these things. I hope you find what you're looking for. It has no name. That's strange," Ava said and went on with her day. 

Back with MJ and the others. "Thanks for helping us with that and it was nice to meet everyone," MJ said. "It was great to hear your story," Shin said. "Are you going to lead the rebellion?" Doc asked as they got to the balcony overlooking the city. "Yeah, sure. I need an identity change anyway," MJ said. "Well then you're going to need this," Gwen said handing her a high-tech mask. "Thanks," MJ said and put on her mask, "Out with the MJ and in with the Aja. Now let's get to work." 

Back at the castle Max was walking into the front room when he felt like something was missing. He looked around and saw a picture under the tv. He grabbed it and read the words on it. "Hangout Day?" He asked. It was a picture of him with his arm around someone but couldn't tell who it was. "It's probably Jade," He said and set the picture down. "But why do I feel like everything is meaningless?"

Jade was walking out in the yard when she heard a voice in the garden. She went over to the garden. "I want a rematch!" A voice said. "Don't waste my time. I said leave me the hell alone damn it!" Another voice said. "I want a rematch!" One of the voices said. "Fine. Take this. I'm not going to fight you in a fist fight again because you're not worth it. So we're using wooden staff instead," The other voice sighed. "Alright! I'm going to win this time!" The voice said. "Heh. Not a chance," The other one said. The voices stopped and Jade felt an emptiness inside her. She looked to the ground and saw staffs laying there. "Why do I feel so empty inside?" Jade asked.

Vallen was in her room when she saw a picture in her drawer. It was her and another person doing hair but she didn't see who it was. "Why do I feel so lonely?" Vallen asked. But with John he was just sitting in his room looking at the ceiling. "Why do I feel so depressed?" He asked as he looked over to his game console and two remotes.

Ava was out on a walk when she got to a certain hill. "It's so familiar," Ava said and sat there. "Why does it feel like I lost my other half?" Ava asked.

'Why does everything feel like a lie and out of place? Why does everything feel so wrong? Why do I feel like there was something there before but not now? Why does it feel like everything is pointless? Why do I feel like everything is lacking without you here? Wherever and whoever you are,' They all thought.

They all gathered together to head to class when they stopped in front of the house. "Something is not right," Ava said. "Something is missing," Jade said and they looked at the roof. They saw a girl sitting there smiling down at them. "Come on! It's time for class!" The girl laughed and disappeared as if she wasn't even there. Memories started rushing through their minds, "MJ." They looked at each other. 

"MJ. We're so sorry. This is all our fault," Ava and the others cried. "Nah, it's not your fault. I would have died without you. I'm grateful," Aja said and they were all surprised. "MJ!" Ava said and hugged her. Then they kissed. "Don't ever scare me like that again," Ava said. "I'm just glad that you're all safe. I could have killed you guys," Aja said and they were surprised. "You remember?" Max asked. "No, I don't remember a thing. Skyvern, Terrador, Grimm, and Sharken explained it as best as they could. Like I said, I don't remember anything while the curse is in effect or anything from it when it wears off. I didn't lie completely," Aja said as she got up. She winced and almost fell backwards. "Woah. You're hurt!" Jade said. "I'll be fine. Not the first time this has happened," Aja said as she ripped the cords out of her arm and took the mask off. "One day you'll all understand why I do things the way I do," Aja said and lifted her hand up and opened it. A wave of light flashed. "W-What are you doing?" Max asked. "It was nice knowing you guys. You will always be my family," Aja said and Ava ran up to her. "MJ! You don't have to do this!" She yelled as she grabbed Aja's arm. "I'm sorry, but I do have to. This is for your own good," Aja said, "I love you, Ava." Aja kissed Ava and the light filled the room...

Ava felt her lips. "I remember what happened," Jade said. "She was hurt really badly," Max said. "That light, she wiped ours and everyone's memories in Estonia," Vallen said. "She left," John said. "She's gone. It's been a year and she was in so much pain. We couldn't help her. She could be anywhere. Or worse... she could be hurt," Ava fell to her knees and cried. "Hey Ava. She is going to be okay," Vallen said. "Yeah. One thing we know about MJ is that she doesn't give up. She'll be okay," Max said. "But what if she pushes herself too far and her injuries start being a problem?" Ava asked. "We'll find her before then," Jade said and they looked at her. "Pack your things. We're leaving tonight. But first we need to talk to Vixendath," She said, then got up and Ava wiped her tears away.
