Chapter 8: Questions For Aja

"How did you and Eva meet?" Vallen asked as they two girls were putting their clothes back on. "Heh, I knew someone would ask that. the story goes like this...

Aja was walking around town with her brothers. They were just goofing around like teenagers. They went into the bar to get drinks. They went up to the bar, "Hello! It's good to see you again, your Majesties!" The man said. "You too, Rin," Aja said. "What can I get for you today?" He asked. "We'll take the usual!" Sharken said. "Of course! Evangelyne! 5 bottles of our best rums!" The man said. "Yes, father!" A girl said. She soon came from the back of the bar with the drinks. "May I ask what's the special occasion father?" The girl asked. "It's not me, it's them," The man said and her eyes widened as she saw who it was. "Thanks!" Aja said as she took the drinks. "Y-You're the Lotus!" The girl said. "Am I? I don't know. Thanks for the drinks though," Aja smiled. "What's the special occasion?" the man asked. "It's somebody's birthday today!" Skyvern said. "Oh really?" The man said as they watched them mess around.

The gang then cleaned up and were about to leave when the girl ran up to Aja. "Um, excuse me, Miss Aja?" The girl said. "Oh, Evangelyne right?" Aja asked. "Yeah, I just wanted to ask you if you would like to meet me here tomorrow? I just wanted to ask you things and find out what it's like to be like you," The girl said. "Of course, she would! She's got nothing better to do!" Grimm said. "Great!" The girl ran back into the bar. "Look at you! 16 and got your first date and check it! She's a human!" Terrador said. "Okay, why? I thought I had something to do tomorrow," Aja said. "Don't worry about it. We got you," Sharken said and Aja sighed. 

The next day Aja met with the Evangelyne. "Hey," Aja said. "Hey, I didn't think you would come," Eva said. "Nah, it would have been rude if I didn't at least drop by. So what did you want to talk about?" Aja asked. "What's it like?" Evangelyne asked. "What?" Aja asked. "To be a dragon like yourself?" Evangelyne asked. "Hmm. I never really thought about it... Oh! I got an idea! Come with me!" Aja said and took her to a mountain. 

"This is what it feels like," Aja said and Evangelyne was amazed at the view. "It feels so nice, peaceful and-"  She was cut off by Aja. "Free. Yeah, but it's a lot of work too. I'd say it's worth it though..." Aja smiled and Evangelyne blushed...

 "That's how we met and became friends," Aja said. "Awe! You two were so cute!" Vallen said. "Have you ever done it?" Max asked. Aja and Eva both blush. "Woah! Diving into personal questions just like that, huh?" Aja asked. "Just answer the question," John said. "Yeah, I have," Aja said. "Okay, did you pop their cherry?" Max asked. "Woah! Woah! Woah! That's not my business to say! You'd have to ask them," Aja said. "Eva, did she pop your cherry?" They asked. "W-Why'd you think it was me?" Eva asked as she blushed. "Was it you?" Vallen asked. "Yeah, it was me. Yeah, she did," Eva said. "Next question!" Aja said. 

"Do you still hate me?" Jade asked. "Hmm. Haven't thought about it. I mean you are annoying but I don't hate you, but again, I don't quite like you," Aja said. "I'm good with that!" Jade said and grabbed her. "Hey, let go!" Aja said and the gang walked. "I have a question," Gwen said as she and Shin walked in. "Yup," Aja said. "What was it really like growing as a dragon in a human world?" Gwen asked. "I'm not going to lie to you, it was pretty hard. Especially in this lifetime. Not knowing what you truly are, but knowing you have this thing inside you. Before I went to the academy my life was a living hell. Ever since a young age I was labeled as the unwanted beast... I was feared so much that people would run if I even looked at them. I was so young but even the kids my age knew who I was. I would just be sitting there eating an apple and a ball rolled up to me. I picked up the ball and tried to give it back but they'd just run away screaming. I could never make any friends. No matter how many times I moved to a new place, I was still a curse. Then the headaches started happening. I'd black out then woke up in disaster. I started staying in the underground. I did what I had to do to survive and I will admit. I did a lot of questionable things. But that's what I had to do. Adults feared my name. They came up with the name Arcane Lotus," Aja said and Eva hugged her.

"Where did you get that necklace?" Shin asked. "Someone gave it to me," Aja said. "What necklace?" Eva asked and saw it, "Is that the one I gave you?" "Sure is," Aja said. "I Didn't think you would still have it, I mean it has been over a millennium," Eva said and Aja chuckled. 

"What do you do when nobody is home? Other than playing your harmonica?" Turbo asked as she walked in. "Oh... uh... I- um... Take a nap! Yeah, that's what I do... I just chill in peace and quiet," Aja said as she looked to the corner of the room. "Bullshit, you even said that you hate sitting still and doing nothing when everyone else is doing something," Shin said. "Really? I don't remember saying anything like that," Aja said. "Aja. Is there something you're hiding from us?" They asked as they got closer to her. "N-No, I don't think so," Aja said. "Like some sort of secret talent?" They asked as they got closer. "No, I don't know what you're talking about," Aja said and they kept pestering her. "Okay, okay! Stop!" Aja said and they looked at her. "It's just a little side gig for some extra money. A friend of mine has a bar in the city and he asked for a favor, plus I kinda owed the guy. Anyway, I did the favor and it turned out to be a great money maker so I stuck with it. I go once a week. I walk in do what I need to do and walk out a couple of hours later. That's it," Aja said. 

"You aren't taking requests for "take out" jobs are you?" Gwen asked. "What? No! Why would I kill people I'm trying to save?" Aja asked and Gwen shrugged. "Then what is it?" Jade asked and Aja looked down and blushed. "I-I'm a singer and musician," Aja mumbled. "You're what?" Eva asked. "I'm a singer and musician," Aja said a bit louder. "We still can't hear you," Shin said. "I'M A SINGER AND MUSICIAN DAMN IT!" Aja covered her mouth wishing she could take back what she said. Everyone looked at her surprised. "Are you serious?" John asked and Aja just nodded. 'Crap! Why did you say that? You should have just said that you were the bartender! Stupid! Now they're going to make fun of you! Fucking stupid!' Aja thought...
