It was a dark yet moonlit night, the crickets chirping and the villagers making their way to sleep.
Until a villager comes to the councilors house to report a strange creature. Leading to where they were now, walking down the streets with a lantern.
"Where did you hear this happening?" The town's councilor asked as they walked down the dirt path of their village.
"I-In the graveyard! It was the most uncanny feeling-... I saw it outside too!" The man explained in a stuttered, breathing heavily with terror.
The councilor nodded slowly as they came across the graveyard. The fog was thick as the sound of digging was heard from the yard, making the two men a lot more frightened.
"...Do you know what it is?" The councilor whispered to the man who shook his head slowly, both approaching it with caution.
The councilor held his lantern higher as a faint blue light could be seen from one of the graves, a dark figure crouched over it.
With his eyebrows furrowed, the councilor drew forward. The sound of munching becoming more recognizable the closer he got.
Then, all of a sudden, the fog cleared.
There stood a beautifully blue fox with nine tails instead of one, eyes as red as blood, red markings drawn over its face as blood dripped from its jaws.
The fox turned and its eyes dilated, making the councilor freeze and stare with wide eyes. The fox had pinned down a freshly buried dead body, and seemed to be eating its... liver?!
The man screamed with horror as the fox went blurry before shifting into the form as a beautiful man. His hair a chocolate brown, face resembling a fox and his fox-like features remained, with blood still dripping-and probably stained-on his face as he started growling, his bloody teeth showing as his eyes started glowing a brighter crimson.
The fox spirit stood up on his two legs with his head tilted, blood falling down his neck and soaking his pearl-white robes.
His fox ear twitched before he lounged forward and attacked as screams sounded from the graveyard.
And both men never came back after that night.
