Tw: mention of death
----------It was a peaceful day in the village of Yellow Wood, the villagers were up and getting the market ready, the children running around, and so much more.
Yellow Wood was a small but cozy town, it wasn't terribly small though! Just enough that everyone knows each other.
The town's busy kid was named Han Jisung, he was always working hard for his family since they were a little on the poorer side, but they got around just fine.
Jisung had a lot of friends, like the merchants son Bang Chan, the lumber merchant's son Seo Changbin, the bakers son Hwang Hyunjin, the farmer's son Lee Felix, the blacksmith's son Kim Seungmin, and lastly the councilor's son Yang Jeongin.
All of them were good friends, but Seungmin was always dirty with charcoal because of all the extra work he does for his father, and Hyunjin tends to have flour in his hair since it's a bit long.
Jisung sometimes has a few scratches from carrying baskets everywhere, but he's so used to them that they don't even bother him anymore.
The boys were all within the range of 17-20, Jisung being 19.
Jisung had his loose pants and jeogori top on, though it was a bit big since it was a hand-me-down from his father.
The boy slipped on his favorite haori his dad got for him when he visited Japan before tying his shoes and starting his day.
"Jisung! Can you take this basket of fish to the market?" The boys mother came up into the main room with a damp basket of freshly caught fish. Jisung instantly nodded.
"Of course Mom, I might be late coming back," Jisung replied with a grin as he took the basket from his mother's gentle hands. The woman giggled as her bubbly son ran out the door, eager to see his friends today.
But then she realized he didn't eat breakfast, "Jisung! Get something to eat when you're down there!" She shouted loud enough for Jisung to hear since he was already quite a bit away already.
Jisung turned around and waved to show he heard her before turning around again and running faster.
...
Jisung greeted the townsfolk as he entered the main town, he just dropped off the fish to the seafood shack and was now looking for his friends.
He also listened to his mother and was eating a rice ball since it was the cheapest thing he could get, and the only thing he could afford.
The boy started with the blacksmith's shop first, he entered to see Seungmin shirtless and covered in charcoal and dirt, he guessed that Seungmin just finished working.
But Felix was with him too and they were talking about serious, Jisung knew since Seungmin's eyebrows were furrowed and he was frowning.
"...Hey guys, is something wrong?" Jisung tilted his head as his eyebrows lowered, causing Felix and Seungmin to look at him with slight surprise.
"Oh, hey Ji," Felix greeted as Seungmin sat on a wooden barrel and just waved, "You didn't hear?" Seungmin tilted his head as Jisung finished his rice ball, shaking his head as he sucked his fingers clean.
"Jeongin's dad was found dead," Felix said with a sad look, and Jisung's eyes immediately widened. "What?! Just over night?" Jisung asked with shock, he felt really bad for Jeongin since he was really close with his dad.
"Yeah, and they found the body with a heart and his liver gone, it was very disgusting," Seungmin shivered at the sight since he was one of the few that saw the body before it was disposed.
