The boys spent the rest of the day messing around and trying to get Jeongin to forget about his dad so they could have fun! All they wanted was little 17-year-old Jeongin to be happy for a bit.

Changbin and Hyunjin did join them a bit later, but Felix needed to get back home to help with the animals and Seungmin needed to get to sleep to help his dad early in the morning. And after what happened with Jeongin's dad, his mom didn't want Jeongin staying outside past sundown.

So Jisung, Chan, Changbin, and Hyunjin stayed to hang out for a bit. They played in the river and talked about how they needed horses in town, but then Chan's father came around saying that Jisung needed to go home now.

"Bye guys! Let's hang out tomorrow too! Come over to my house in the morning or something!" Jisung grinned as he waved, the boys shouted back agreements as they walked home and waved back.

Jisung sighed with a smile before turning around and walking home. Jisung's house was a little bit farther away since it was up a hill, but not too far.

There were some other houses on the hill, but not a bunch. Most houses were in the main area of town, and since all of his friends had families that had big roles in town they had houses in that main area.

Jisung was just an errand boy, he's family mostly caught fish for the town so he'd just deliver that fish to the market and they made their money.

This was mostly how everyday was for Jisung, dropping off fish and hanging out with his best friends. Maybe Jisung had too much free time because he only delivered for the family, he should help his dad more by fishing with him.

Then that would be more fish, and more money-

His thoughts were cut off by the sound of pained whimpering, like an injured animal.

Jisung picked up his head and looked around, but he didn't see anything. So as the pained sounds continued, Jisung followed them.

The sounds led him off the road but he wanted to see this hurt animal, it was probably from Felix's stable so he'd do them a favor by getting it back to them.

Twigs cracked under Jisung's feet the further he went into the woods, the breeze was cold and gave Jisung shivers. Then a shine of blue light flashed in the corner of his eyes, the boy turned to see the blue light flickering like it was in pain.

Jisung didn't think anything of it and walked closer, cautiously avoiding sticks to make sure he didn't scare the hurt creature away.

Then Jisung was close enough to see the figure, it looked like some sort of dog, but bigger. "H-Hey, are you okay?" Jisung whispered to the animal, causing it to look up at him, and the boy gasped at its appearance.

It was a fox with large ears, its fur a beautiful blue and eyes as red as rubies. It had multiple red markings on its face and sharp claws, but it looked... hurt, and hungry.

The fox remained silent, its red tongue darting out to lick its lips like Jisung would be his next meal.

But the more Jisung looked, he realized the fox was stuck in a bush. And the bush had sharp thorns, he could tell the thorns were digging into the fox's leg.

"Do you need help?" Jisung asked softly, making sure to keep his distance from the oddly colored fox. The creature then lifted its head like he realized something before looking back at the bush.

"That looks like it hurts..." Jisung mumbled as he slowly walked around the fox-who was watching his every move-to get to the bush. He crouched down and saw the branch that was stabbing the fox, so he glanced over to the fox before reaching into the bush and grabbing the thin branch.
