Surviving Beside You

Searching

After the two finally got to know eachothers names they continued their journey to find drinklable clean water.

"I still find it hard to believe that you can actually speak in full sentances.. Any reason why you barely talk?"

Enko asked as he tried his best to keep up with how fast jhero was walking "i dont like speaking"
Said jhero as he continued walking with the body over his shoulder.

Enko sighed slightly annoyed but then he realized he shouldn't be trying to piss off jhero, since he did kill someone with no hessitation, he got weirded out  but tried his best at hiding how he truly felt at that moment.

"Also... What did you mean when you said.. The body looked edible..?'' he said in a very uncomfortable tone, he didn't like that there was a body over jhero's shoulder.

Jhero continued walking for a short while before opening his mouth to answer enko's question.
" i said it looks edible"

Enko was starting to lose his Patience with jhero but he had to stop himself so he wouldn't anger him, he wanted to stay on the man's good side for now.

"Yeah but.. What do you mean by that.. Are you going to canibalize him?"

Jhero sighed and looked down at enko "anything wrong?" he said in a monotone voice

"I mean.. Like, you would actually eat another human??!?" said enko with a shocked tone

Jhero stayed silent and kept walking, not even bothering trying to answer that question, enko rolled his eyes and just reached out and pulled the dead body off of jhero's shoulder, jhero only glared at enko before speaking up "fine, maybe next time"

"Good"

Soon enough the two made it to the bar and went inside, they were greated with loud jazz music echoing through the whole bar, the lighting was  slightly dim and the bar smelled of alcohol and a slight scent of cigarettes, the floor was made of oak, there were many chairs and tables scattered through out the establishment.

The two went up to the bartender and jhero started talking to the man behind the counter.
"One glass of water"

"..."

"Please"

"Do you have the money for it jhero?" said the man behind the counter with a raised eyebrow. Enko on the other hand was just awkwardly standing behind jhero, not wanting to bring too much attention to himself.

"Yes." he said and handed three coins to the man, the bartender then placed a glass down onto the counter and poured some water into the cup. As soon as the glass was full Jhero picked up the glass cup and turned to hand it to enko

"Thank you.." said enko as he took the cup and took his time to drink it. The bartender looked over at enko and his curiosity got to the better of him "ahhh! You have a friend with you now jhero?''

" is She your lover?" the bartender said as he let out a small chuckle.

Enko coughed and choked on his water, quickly placing the cup down and covering his mouth while patting on his chest, he got flustered since he wasn't expecting such a question. Jhero on the other hand looks at the bartender and says "no"

Enko quickly answered after jhero "i-i'm actually a man.. And i'm not his lover" he said when he stopped coughing and picked up his cup again.

The man laughed and said "as expected of our scorpion! Never finding someone to love!"
