Surviving Beside You

well that was certainly a surprise

Enko looked over to see jhero staring at him blankly, it was nice that the two of them made it out of that god awful building. He was just so relieved that he wouldnt have to deal with constant anxiety and fear in such a dark big space.

Enko turned to look at the lifeless corpse laying on his chest, he held the body carefully while slowly sitting up.

"Are you alright jhero? That was quiet the fall we took there"

Jhero sat up too and nodded his head, not bothering to swipe the snow off of him. "I'm fine'' He said monotonely as he stood up and checked his pocket for the drug. Thankfully it was still there so he looked over at the corpse, taking a look at it from where he was standing.

" we should go back to that lady at the bar and hand these in huh?''

The alien said while getting on his feet to look at jhero eye to eye..mostly bandages but oh well.
"Mhm.'' the scorpion muttered as he looked back at the building.

There was something off about it now, he heared a faint ticking sound chime rather slowly. He started walking away from it, he was very certain on what exactly was going to happen next.

Enko followed jhero comepleatly oblivious to what jhero's hunch would be, after a little bit of walking jhero turned around again, enko following but this time the building seemed to shake? It was particularly foreign to enko after all.

Moments later a huge explosion blew up the entire building within seconds right before their eyes. Enko's heart stopped beating for a split second as his started to feel sick to his stomach, knowing if they stayed in that building any longer the two of them would have died or suffered extreme injuries.

Jhero on the other hand just watched at the peices of the building burn and scatter across the forest. This was just a normal sight to him, nothing special but it was a little rewarding since it ment he was going to get paid in the end.

"Are you done gawking?"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN AM I DONE?? JUST SAW A BUILDING EXPLODE INFRONT OF MY EYES??!?"

"This is normal though?"

"NORMAL???? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND??"

Enko yelled as he held the corpes tighter. How was this normal?? Nothing about this was normal. He was holding a dead body for gods sake and just had a near death experience.

"Enko."

"WHAT IS IT NOW?"

"I need you to calm down, and remember where we are."

He rolled his eyes. Yeah sure this may not be his world where everything is sunshine and rainbows, but getting used to something like this?? He'd go crazy if he had to stay here even longer than he already has! Calming down was the last thing on his mind right now, but deep down he knew he had to listen, he wasnt stupid. Jhero's the reason hes still alive after all. He started to feel guilt again, jhero's been patient with him this whole time. He shouldnt be complaining at all. His mind started to rekindle the time jhero first found him in that small worn down house. His breathing got slower and slower as he started to calm down.

"I'm sorry, i shouldnt have yelled at you like that."

"Its fine"

"No, really this time, i'll try not to complain as much"

"I'm not going to stand here and listen to you ramble, lets just head back and talk about this another time."

Jhero said, brushing the matter off. He took off first and started walking to the direction of where the bar was.
Enko stood there for a while and looked back down at the corpse. He held it a little tighter and started following jhero, ignoring the cold as much as he could on their way back to the bar.
