"You can't just expect the thing to throw itself into this so willingly! It's spirited, but not enough to do what you're talking about!"

"You're wrong. It will do as I have commanded. It's already been set in its mind."

"Do stop with your patronizing act, Perseus. We both know you're not the god everyone makes you out to be. Besides, it won't awaken for over a thousand years! How can you have 'set it in its mind', as you so say, before its furthest ancestors have even been conceived?"

"Blood magic, my boy. It never fails."

"Ice and rain, man! You can't be considering -"

"I can and I will. Do you want your world to be ruined, boy? Do you want your people to kill themselves off?"

"You know my answer. I won't be able to keep this from it, Perseus. You and I both are fully aware of that."

"I don't expect you to."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I don't expect you to remember this at all."

"I see... You'll be leaving then, I suppose?"

"Of course. This is the only way to save us all. It is the only way."
