It was an elf whose presence seemed to bring a sense of calm and magic to the forest. She approached Lucius with concern etched on her features, her eyes assessing his condition with a keen gaze.
"You are not from these woods," she observed, her voice melodic yet tinged with curiosity.
Lucius managed a weak nod, too exhausted to speak. Lady Seraphina knelt beside him, her hands glowing with a gentle healing light as she tended to his fever and wounds. The warmth of her touch eased his pain, and he felt a sense of gratitude wash over him.
Her eyes were scanning the surroundings with a practiced eye before gently lifting Lucius from his makeshift shelter. Despite his weakened state, he felt a sense of security in her capable arms as she carried him through the dense branches.
As they journeyed towards the elf hidden sanctuary, she carefully administered herbal remedies to ease Lucius's pain and fever. Her pouch was filled with a variety of herbs, each selected for its medicinal properties and potency. She applied soothing salves to his wounds, relieving his discomfort and aiding in his recovery.
Upon reaching her sanctuary, she laid Lucius down on a soft bed of moss and furs. The air inside the sanctuary was infused with the calming scents of herbs and wood smoke, creating a serene atmosphere conducive to healing.
"You are fortunate to have survived this long in the wild," She remarked.
The elf brewed a potent herbal tea, blending ingredients known for their healing properties and immune-boosting effects.
"I had no choice," Lucius murmured, his voice hoarse from days of hardship. "I had to leave my home."
Sorrow flickered in her eyes as she helped him sit up, offering him a sip of herbal tea that she brewed from plants gathered in the forest. The warm liquid soothing his throat and helping his senses.
"The woods can be unforgiving to those unaccustomed to its ways," she said softly. "But fear not, young one. You will be taught by Lady Seraphina and taken under her wing."
Gratitude and relief flooded through Lucius as he looked at the elf, a newfound sense of hope blooming within him.
"But...who is Lady Seraphine?" Shivering from the cold, he said quietly.
She blushed instantly and said, "T-t-that would be me." with a sheepish expression as she wrapped a blanket around him.
With a smile on his face and his laughter muffled by the coughs and with a tone full of appreciation, he spoke softly, "Thank you, Lady Seraphina."
She smiled gently. "You are very welcome, young one. Now rest and regain your strength for tomorrow."
"And you can address me as Seraphine."
Lucius nodded and soon his eyes started to close, and he fell asleep.
