Once we got to the hospital Ruby was rushed out the ambulance with an oxygen mask around her face. I followed them as they rolled her to a room. When I tried to step in a nurse stopped me.

"Sorry, you can't go in sir." Pardon?

"She's my wife." I stated.

I tried stepping in but I was stopped again.

"We know sir but she's in a really critical condition so I'm gonna need to ask you to wait outside."

She shut the door in my face. I just stayed calm. Its alright. She's alright. Its all a dream. Keep breathing. Don't kill anyone.

I went to sit down as I continued to take deep breaths. I closed my eyes. Wake up. I don't like this dream. Wake up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Wake up." I heard Ruby say.
"Ruby?! You're alright! You didn't get hit by a car!" I exclaimed kissing her all over her face.
"No? The hell? Why would you think that?" She scrunched up her face.
"I had a dream about it. I was so scared. I managed to control my anger though." I just chuckled.
"Oh. Erm, okay? Anyway- can you-" she stopped.
"What?"
"Get up." Huh?
"I am up..." I trailed off.
"Get up sir. Wake up." She continued. The fuck?
"Sir get up."
"Wake up sir." I was being shaken awake.
I opened my eyes slowly and looked around rubbing my eyes. Why am I at a hospital?
"What happened?" I scrunched up my face.
"Your wife sir, she was hit by a car earlier today." I instantly shook my head.
That was a dream. She's fine. I know she is.
"It can't be. She's fine." I shook my head.
"No sir. You followed us here. I just wanted to tell you that we treated her as much as we can-"
"Where is she?! What are you trying to tell me?!"
Shit man this can't be happening.
"You'll know once you let me speak sir."
Is she... She can't be. No way. I won't allow it. I just kept quiet. I can't believe this.
"She's still in a pretty bad state. We managed to mend her cuts and bruises. She had only one broke bone which we have also sorted but she will have to be on crutches for a couple months. Her head was slightly split but it's now stitched up. Not too bad. We struggled to get her awake at first but when we did she didn't speak. We tried to find out the reason why she walked out in front of that car."
"She walked out in front of it?"
Not possible. Her hearing is top notch. She'd stop if she heard cars!
"As witnesses say. They claimed that she was somewhat fighting herself back from going to the road but eventually just walked in front of the car causing her to get hit."
The fuck? No. Thats not right. Theres something wrong.
"Can I speak to her?" She'll tell me what really happened.
"We was about to allow you earlier but she seemed to have zoned out all of a sudden. She's still breathing but not responding. We just need to be patient with her." I nodded. Why me man?
