"Mark is here, Hyuck. He- he is inside with Jackson" Donghyuck's heart dropped at that. Mark Lee. Yoonseul's first love. His too if you consider that one time in middle school when he had a crush on the boy.
But Yoonseul...
As he looked at Yoonseul, a sinking feeling began to gnaw at the trenches of his heart. He liked her. He liked her so much it physically hurts him to look at her, see her talk and think about someone else. That someone else had ironically always been Mark. He can't lose her to him again. No that wasn't gonna happen this time right? He shook his head trying to come back to his senses. Right now, Yoonseul is the priority. Not his on-sided beef Mark Lee but one question kept itching him.
What the fuck is he doing here?
"So after that, you and Hyuck left?" Chaerin asked, sipping water from her bottle.
"Yeah, we called in Yangs." Yoonseul replied, taking a deep breath, already tired from all the practice today. She and Chaerin had combat training with Johnny at the ass crack of dawn.
"You could have rung me or Jaemin, you know? We could have-" Chaerin started, only to be cut off by her best friend.
"Rin, you barely spent time with your mans. I'm not gonna cockblock you," Chaerin playfully punched Yoon's shoulder, which hurt more than expected.
"Plus, Yangs did ask us to call if anything went wrong." she added in her defence, rubbing her shoulder.
"That dude and his crazy instinct." Chaerin grumbled.
"Ok, girls that's enough chitchat get back here" Johnny wasted no time in initiating the fight as he entered the training arena. With a swift motion, he lunged forward, his movements calculated and precise. Yoonseul and Chaerin reacted instinctively, dodging his attacks and countering with their own. The sound of fists meeting filled the air as the trio engaged in a fast-paced exchange of blows. Yoonseul's lack of enthusiasm for physical activities was evident in her movements. She struggled to match Johnny's intensity, her strikes feeling sluggish and lacking power. Doubt gnawed at her as she hesitated, second-guessing every move she made.
In contrast, Chaerin appeared to be in her element, her strikes delivered with precision and force. Yoonseul couldn't help but feel inadequate in comparison, her confidence faltering with each exchange. As Johnny noticed Yoonseul's struggles, he paused the practice, giving the girls a moment to catch their breath. It was clear that Yoonseul's lack of confidence was affecting her performance, and Johnny intended to address it before they continued.
"Hey, kiddo. Did you talk to Taeyong about the department change yet?" Johnny questioned, concern evident in his eyes.
"Not yet..." Yoonseul mumbled, her thoughts drifting to her true passion: biology. Despite pursuing a career in computers to fulfil her parents' expectations and qualify for her current job, she knew her heart lay elsewhere. Yoonseul wasn't particularly passionate about computers, nor was she exceptional in the field. It took her years to accept this truth, but now that she had, she felt compelled to pursue her passion for biology. After discussing it with her brother, they decided that transitioning into forensics, with her university offering a minor in the subject, might be the right move for her. It was a chance to work under Doyoung's guidance and explore her true interests. The problem however was
