"Seriously!" Kai groaned as he landed with a thud on the deck of the Bounty. The ninja were trying their hardest to learn Airjitzu. They set up a flag and were trying to grab it, but Ronin's taunting from up next to it made it hard to focus.
"Aww," The thief said in mock sympathy. "Just short. Like your temper, Kai."
"Let me try." Said Jay. "I'm for sure a better Airjitzuer than you, Kai."
The Red Ninja rolled his hazel eyes. "Oh, yeah? And when did that happen?"
"Like, now!" Jay spun into Spinjitzu, but before he went full spin he jumped, creating a sphere of blue air that lifted him up. But it didn't lift him high enough and the Blue Ninja fell to the ground with a scream.
"Oh, yeah. That was so much better than me." Kai said sarcastically.
"It...it was." Jay said quietly.
Ronin took a bite out of his apple. "That wasn't Airjitzu, that was Failitzu."
"Or Stupiditzu." Kai suggested.
Master Wu walked out onto the deck. He looked up to the strawberry blonde man who sat high above them. "To master the powers of Airjitzu, we must uplift, not put each other down, Ronin."
Ronin took another bite out of his apple. "You close shop for a week, you gotta let me have some. Aren't Nindroid's supposed to be precise?"
Kai sighed and moved his shoulders. "These new suits are heavy. Why can we just use our old ones?"
Charlie was leaning against the rail, not very interested in their conversation. She had tried Airjitzu a few times, but like the others she couldn't get quite high enough. Her chestnut hair blew in the wind as she turned to face her team. "Our suits are embedded with Deepstone. They'll protect us from behind possessed."
It was true, the new suits were very heavy. They weren't really new, however. Misako had just embedded Deepstone into their old suits and they donned pauldrons of the aquatic material. All but Nya and Cole wore them. Nya because she was new to being a ninja and needed time to get used her new suit before getting one with limited mobility. And Cole... Charlie's heart wrenched when she thought of him. Now that he was a Ghost, he couldn't wear Deepstone without disappearing for good. He could still use an Aeroblade just as long as he wasn't struck by one. It was the same logic behind a human could wield a shuriken, but should avoid being hit by one.
"Yeah, well," Jay started. "Maybe the name 'Airjitzu' isn't uplifting enough. Maybe we need something a little more inspiring, like... Cyclon-Do!" He preformed Airjitzu and zoomed into the sky. And while he got higher than ever, he over shot the flag.
"Miss. Again." Ronin said with a smirk. But as Jay fell down to the deck, he grabbed the thief's apple. "Hey!"
Jay laughed as he landed. "Cyclon-Do." He took a bite of his apple, relishing the sweet taste of success. Nya walked out onto the deck. Her new gi was dark crimson with gold highlights. She wore gold armor on her shoulders which was actually Kai's old armor from when they fought the Serpentine. The Samurai–Water Ninja– had a concerned look on her face. Her brow was furrowed and her painted lips were pressed into a thin line.
"Hey, sis." Kai greeted. "That color looks good on you."
Nya gave him a sad smile. "Thanks." She walked over to Charlie. "Hey, um, I tried to tell Cole you were all training, but he won't come out of his room."
The Master of Darkness let out a sigh. "I'll go talk to him." Without another word, Charlie left to go find her partner.
The wooden halls of the Bounty weren't too hard to navigate when one knew where they were going. Charlie walked until she reached Cole's room. The door was ajar, so she walked in.
