After a triumphant football game in which her team emerged victorious with a score of 34-23, Hope found herself driving back home. It was a Friday night, the air was cool, and the weekend had just begun. All she wanted was to wind down, nestle into her bed, and lose herself in a horror movie with her girlfriend.
However, as she turned into her driveway, she could already sense that her plans may have to change. The house was lit up and the sound of music carried over the noise of the engine. Her sister had decided to throw a party. A wave of surprise washed over her, but she shrugged it off, parked her car, and stepped out into the cool night.
As she pushed the front door open, she was greeted by the sight of a bustling crowd. She scanned the room, her eyes landing on Allison among the sea of faces. Giving her a smile and a wave, she navigated through the crowd and ascended the stairs, seeking the quiet sanctuary of her room. Hope wasn't much of a party person or social person. Being around a majority of people made her uncomfortable.
Once inside her room, she dropped her bag onto the floor with a sigh. Her bathroom, conveniently connected to her room, beckoned to her. Without wasting another moment, she moved towards it, ready to wash away the sweat and fatigue. And soon, she disappeared into the calming embrace of a hot shower.
Meanwhile, downstairs amidst the ongoing party, Allison, Hope's sister, felt a pang of concern for Hope. She decided it best to check on her. Walking up the stairs, she navigated through the hallway and knocked on Hope's door, patiently waiting for an answer.
After a moment, the door creaked open and Hope stood there, greeting Allison with a tired smile. She gestured for her sister to enter the room. Hope was dressed in a comfortable silky PJ set, her hair casually tied up in a messy bun, a clear sign of her intending to retire for the night. Her glasses resting on the bridge of her nose gave her a scholarly look.
"How are you?" Allison asked, trying to gauge her sister's mood.
"I'm tired," Hope admitted, rubbing her eyes. She added, "Also, Lizzie is coming over again tonight. She's spending the night."
The corners of Allison's lips curled into a teasing smirk, "Are you two going to fuck again, like last time?"
A wave of embarrassment washed over Hope, causing her face to turn a deep shade of red. "Allison!" She exclaimed, her voice just above a whisper. Without wasting any time, Hope swiftly pushed her sister out of the room and shut the door.
No sooner had she shut the door than there was a knock on her window. A knowing smile spread across her face as she realized it was her girlfriend, Lizzie. She walked over, opened the window, and carefully helped Lizzie climb in. After making sure Lizzie was safe inside, she shut the window.
"Hey, baby," Lizzie whispered gently, her breath warm against the hollow of Hope's neck.
Hope lifted her gaze to meet the girl standing in front of her. She felt a smile tug at her lips as she murmured in response, "Hi."
"Seems like your sister decided to turn the house into party central," Lizzie remarked with a playful smirk. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"More than I'd like to admit," Hope confessed, her smile broadening into a warm, teasing grin.
With a shared glance, the pair embarked on their mischievous plans. They ventured downstairs, hand in hand, their intent to snatch some alcohol from the kitchen. However, the sea of party-goers proved to be an obstacle, blocking their path or grinding against them in the rhythm of the loud music. Hope had to forcefully push a guy away before she could make a mad dash for the kitchen. Once there, she quickly grabbed a bottle of vodka, feeling a thrill of victory.
"Lizzie! I got it!" She called out, her voice rising above the din of the party as she held up the bottle. She broke into laughter, the sound ringing out clear and bright.
Eventually, Lizzie managed to weave her way through the crowd and into the kitchen. She joined in Hope's laughter, her giggles echoing around the room, only to slowly fade away.
"What?" Hope asked, her brows knitting together in confusion at the sudden change in Lizzie's demeanor.
"And where do you think you're going with that?" A voice emerged from behind Hope, catching her off guard.
Hope's shoulders slumped and her lips tightened into a straight line. She turned around to find her sister, Allison, standing there with her hand outstretched, clearly expecting Hope to hand over the bottle. With a reluctant sigh, Hope complied, placing the bottle into Allison's waiting hand.
Taking Lizzie's hand, the pair retreated from the kitchen and made their way back upstairs to Hope's room. Once inside, they flopped onto the bed, their laughter replaced with sighs of resignation.
"Well, that didn't work," Hope admitted, casting a sideways glance at Lizzie and shaking her head with a rueful smile.
With a shake of her head and a light-hearted smile, Lizzie playfully crawled on top of Hope, her lips seeking out Hope's in a fervent kiss. Hope responded with a soft giggle, her hands finding their way to the back of Lizzie's neck, fingers gently tracing the soft skin there. They were so engrossed in each other, their world reduced to the space between them, that Hope's PJ top came off unnoticed. Their time was interrupted by a knock on the door, but they were too lost in their own shared universe to hear it. The intruder, undeterred by the lack of response, decided to walk in.
"Hope! I swear to God!" Allison's voice rang out in the room, her tone a mix of exasperation and amusement.
Lizzie rolled off of Hope with a light sigh, quickly locating Hope's discarded PJ top and handing it back to her. Hope slipped it on hurriedly, her gaze trained on the floor as she tried to avoid the teasing look she knew her sister was giving her.
"Lizzie," Allison drew out the 'e' in a teasing manner, " We have got to stop meeting like this."
"Heh, yeah," Lizzie responded, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly.
"Alright, well, I just wanted to let you both know that everyone else has headed home, except for my friend. She's going to be staying the night and we have something fun planned for you two tomorrow. And Lizzie, feel free to bring Josie along as well. We're going to be hanging out downstairs, so if you need anything, don't hesitate to shout out," Allison explained, her tone shifting to a more serious note.
Allison paused at the door, glancing back over her shoulder with a smirk, "Oh, and the door stays open," she added before disappearing downstairs.
"Why are you making them keep the door open?" Allison's friend, Hazel, asked with a hint of confusion in her voice.
"Because my sister is..." Allison began but was swiftly cut off by Hope.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence!" Hope warned a note of defiance in her voice.
