We, firstly, thank Jessica Titone for our glorious cover design artwork on "Otherborn: The Dig!" [for the Wattpad Authors Cut Prologue] & [for Kai's origin story on Kindle Vella] previewing here in it's separate "pilot" free chapters duplicated from Vella following this (now 11 short chapter) Prologue WP edition.
Jess, you are immensely inspiring with all of your art! You literally bring out the tone and details of a story before it's even written! How do you do that?!

To fill you in about our Character Intro Series—in case you're not already familiar—the six character intros are a side project to our main series thread here, "Otherborn: In the Wastelands Alone."
"Otherborn: The Dig" is Kai's story, but you might see other Otherborn characters here! ;)
Each character introduction is being attempted in an entirely different genre to keep us up nights and learning more craft.
We have six intended character introductions you could view in any order. They support our two Otherborn main story threads, which, for Wattpad, begin with "Otherborn: In the Wastelands Alone" [to follow, the ongoing serial "Otherborn: Earth's Crust Survival" on Kindle Vella. (which, for your purposes here, can be considered a prequel that you don't need to read unless you would like to.)]
They all take place at roughly the same point ten years before Earth's Crust Survival, thus eleven years before Book 1, In The Wastelands Alone, and generally match up timing for their origin stories in the world before the events of "The Mag".
Because of all this, all of them segue, as much as each stands alone.
Kai = Mystery / Action Adventure;
Custer = Humour / Romance, although only a hint will show in this segment, as Custer's our bad guy. We've left out the spoilers.
Fox = Sci-Fi;
Tabitha = Teen / Drama;
Grit = Thriller;
Fin = Coming of Age;
This time we managed to get an entire beginning, middle AND end into this character intro, actually two if you notice. You'll see two covers eventually for Kai in "The Dig", and if you're reading right through, you'll want to read both in the order they're posted.
Please, expect cliffhangers here!
Regardless of where you jump in... each character is very much that... a character, eh!
