Roken (chapter 6)

"I'm trusting you but that doesn't mean I won't kill them."
He spoke quietly to you yet his voice was calm and mouth when he did it towards you.
"I know I know just...they've been through a lot and this is a chance to see other people."
You argued a bit and he shook his head.
"We've survived long enough without issue , this could turn into a issue."
He argued back and you sighed.
As much as you wanted to help you knew he was right. This could easily turn into a bigger problem than what it seems at the moment but you weren't about to let the chance of making allies.
"You already searched both of us , no weapons or anything. We need help is all..."
Konig spoke up now , a bit more softly as he looked at you.
"We can let you stay but give us details...you're probably hungry and tired..."
You offered and ghost snapped his head at you as his eyes narrowed.
"Y/n we cannot let them stay-"
"It's my call , you can kill them if they fuck up but trust me on this one."
You say firmly before placing your hand on his shoulder trying to reassure him.
"Mercy , not a good look for someone who's trying to survive."
Nikto muttered and konig glared at him.
"Shut it, they're trying to help us and your not making it any better."
Konig seethed lowly and Nikto grumbled quietly.

You gently nodded towards ghost and he kept quiet and close you with his hand kept tightly on his trifle and you gave a small smile towards them as you gave them a small signal to relax.
These were people , survivors let alone probably past soldiers as you saw the way they held themselves. You figured you ask when it was the right time but for now you stood observing them before speaking.
"Any injuries we should go over or should we get to the chase hm?"
You asked and konig shook his head.
"Not any , just sore from all the walking."
He answered , his accent being very prominent.
"Bout the city..."
You started as you grabbed two small wooden chairs from them , the wood being worn down and dirty yet still standing and able. You set them down and you look towards konig and he gave a small nod as he sat down , ghost keeping a sharp eye on the both of them as he watched konig sit and Nikto stood keeping up.

Konig day down , his tall stature now in a sort of sitting crouching positions and let off a small sigh of relief as this position was a bit more comfortable then before as he was tall hey Nikto still stood on guard and stood standing keeping his eyes on ghost , seemingly ghost and Nikto seeing to be the same way except one was sane and the other really wasn't.

"Bread?"
You offered a small bit of rations as you grabbed a basket and sat down near them trying to be open and cautious. You knew ghost was on edge right now but you knew you had to try before anything , you knew deep down that they were good and you hoped this led into a journey that allowed you and ghost to grow closer to each other. You hoped for happier times but you couldn't deny that while spending your time with ghost that you didn't have good times because you both had plenty , even if ghost didn't want to admit a lot he sorta enjoyed your presence more than he'd seem. Konig seemed a bit hesitant at the offer of rations but you made sure to reassure him.
"Trust me nothings wrong with it , it was made a few days ago and still has some good to it."
You gave a small nod and he nodded as he took a small bit of the rations , lifting his mask slightly to nibble on it.
"Danke"
He thanked and you smiled slightly while ghost loomed over your shoulder keeping the same stoic look he's kept for awhile but it's not like there was much to see as he wore his mask but the way he held himself showed a bit how he was feeling.

Nikto didn't take any and you placed the basket down on the wooden floors and you looked at them before letting your mind open up with a few questions.
"How'd you get to know about a cure in the city?"
You asked and konig looked at you before pulling his hand away from under his mask and he looked at you thoughtfully before answering.
"We were originally running with a group , along the way others got infected through drainage water to where we were staying at along the way and many lost there lives but we kept moving , we..."
He trailed of and ghosts eyes narrowed even more.
"Keep talking."
Ghost says firmly and you shook your head as you tried to understand.
"Uhm...and as we ran for a bit and kept moving we lost many more due to infected waters and we moved up into the woods and now we're here..."
Konig finished explaining and you gave a nod as you had listened intently.

You knew how hard it was losing people especially when you had no choice but to really keep going. You knew they couldn't stop as they had gone too far to stop and you knew how it felt to lose people as you have lost people of your own. Ghost thought for a moment and as he had listened as well he spoke up and grew closer.
"You're being vague about it , give names , details and places. Locations."
Ghost snaps and Nikto glared at him as well as ghost did the same back.
"We're going to a guy named forest , who lives out in the city in a med facility , and has been working on a cure. He and other doctors as well have partnered up."
Konig mumbled as he started to grow a bit anxious but he still kept alert and aware.
''The name of the facility''
Ghost patients was wearing thin and konig rubbed his hands together a bit nervously as he started to fidget.
''On roken street past the closed off zone.''
Konig muttered and ghost shook his head.
''Thats crawling with infected , you won't make it you both have a death wish.''
You shook your head and sighed , as much as you wanted to try and help you had to be realistic , that place was crawling with infection and probably worse and getting through woul be harder than anything now.
''I already had a death wish , this one didn't let me take it.''
Nikto mumbled and your eyes slightly widened at the sudden comment as it caught you off guard and you let off a small breath.
'' we have a lot to go over don't we....''
You nodded to yourself and kept quiet as you pondered.

For ones death wish was an others promise for many lied breathing an conscious.
