Chapter 2

Applejack and her team had brought the criminal trio to her mansion. The mansion brought back memories, unpleasant ones, to the group, especially Rarity. The men from before, who the trio found out are actually bodyguards, had opened the car door and pulled the women out. The three looked up at the mansion with the old memories flooding their heads.

"Let's bring them in." Applejack ordered the men.

Twilight hesitated to speak, "How come you have bodyguards now?" She asked.

"That question will be addressed at the meeting." Applejack answered, "but for some context, it has to do with the mission I mentioned earlier."

The group exchanged confused looks at the mention of a meeting. Applejack put a temporary halt to her walk and turned around. She noticed the bodyguards still holding onto the women, along with Rarity and Twilight still being in handcuffs.

"You can let go of them." Applejack ordered, "Remove their cuffs."

The bodyguards did as told. Rarity and Twilight were relieved to have finally been set free from the chains that once occupied their wrists. They walked freely, following Applejack and Pinkie to the entrance of their home.

Rainbow's palms had been sweating ever since she was seated in the car. Her mind was overflowing with thoughts, she was wondering if what Applejack had said was true. She had to see her again. She didn't know what to feel. She took a deep breath before arriving to the doors.

The doors to the manor had opened on their own from the inside, allowing the group to enter. Rarity's stomach sunk from looking around and recognizing every bit of her old home. She spotted a young woman appearing from behind a set of doors, who began jogging towards the front entrance.

"Applejack, Pinkie?" The familiar, soft voice called.

The woman was in view now, she was carrying a fluffy, white bunny in her arms. She gasped softly when she saw the trio behind Applejack and Pinkie. She bent down to let the bunny roam around.

"Dashie..." Fluttershy thought to herself.

The timid girl looked at Rainbow for a few seconds. They locked eyes, making those short seconds feel like forever. Fluttershy noticed Rainbow's cheek was badly bruised. She frowned before turning away.

"Do you need help with anything, Applejack?" She asked, while fidgeting with her fingers.

Rainbow's lips parted as she wanted to say something, anything, to Fluttershy, but no words would come out.

Applejack shook her head, "No, you can return to your room." She said, sternly.

'Return to your room?' Rainbow thought, "What the hell, is she bossing her around now?"

Fluttershy nodded before commencing towards the grand staircase. The bunny had returned and jumped around Fluttershy's feet. She knelt down to scoop the little guy in her arms.

"Let's go, Angel." She spoke to her pet.

Fluttershy ascended the stairs and was soon out of the group's sight. Rarity looked over at Rainbow to see she was staring at the ground with a frown. Applejack turned around to face the three, she waved her hand in the air signaling the bodyguards to walk away.

"I'll let you guys settle in your rooms before the meeting," Applejack said, "speaking of which, it will be in an hour at 12am on the dot."

Pinkie Pie interjected, "Can I plan a party? Pretty please!"

Applejack shook her head to Pinkie's disappointment.

"Okay, how about a get-together?" Pinkie continued on rambling, "or a dinner party?"

"Pinkie Pie!" Applejack boomed, which caused her poor cousin to jump.

Applejack glared at her, "There will be no damn party." She said, "I suggest you leave now."

Pinkie's bouffant hair seemed to deflate. Twilight's features saddened at the scene, she never liked seeing Pinkie's bright spirit brought down.

"What has gotten into Applejack?" She wondered.

Pinkie Pie had flashed a quick smile at Twilight and waved before retreating to the stairs in the same fashion as Fluttershy. Twilight blushed a touch at the action.

Applejack cleared her throat before speaking, "The bodyguards will escort you to your designated guest room. There are also a change of clothes in there, so you don't need to stay in your prison gear."

Applejack then snapped her fingers and two of men from earlier had returned.

"Show Twilight and Rainbow to their rooms." She ordered, "Rarity, I need you to stay back for a moment."

Rarity gulped as the bodyguards led Rainbow and Twilight upstairs. Applejack made sure they were gone before she faced Rarity, who averted her gaze. Rarity refused to look at her, she simply couldn't.

"Rarity." Applejack called, "I don't want you to be upset, it's understandable but it will be a distraction to our mission."

Rarity scoffed, "I have every right to be upset, Applejack, you abandoned us and now you need us back for your own purposes." She argued.

Applejack walked closer to her. "Rarity, let's not fight about this matter now." She said, "get some rest, I'll get a guard to take you to your room."

Rarity crossed her arms and avoided Applejack's emerald irises. "You have your guards doing everything for you. Why don't you be a good host and show your own guests to their rooms?" She retorted, "you know, darling, you've become so selfish. I've noticed how you treat poor Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie."

Applejack's eyes widened. "Sugarcube, you out of all people should know I have a lot of responsibility. I can't waste time showing you all your rooms!"

Rarity furrowed her brows and decided to finally face Applejack. She balled her fists and glared directly at her, getting up in her face.

"You deemed your work more important than your friends!" She screamed.

"Rarity." Applejack warned.

Rarity interrupted, "more important than your girlfriend!"

Rarity's lips lowered whilst she backed away and turned around. Her sapphire eyes teared up. She hugged herself for comfort. Applejack sighed and lifted her hand to rest on Rarity's tense shoulder in attempt to console her. Rarity slapped her hand away.

"Rarity, you didn't even bother asking why I brought you and the other two back to my manor." She started. "We have bigger issues than our past. Our rivals are trying to ruin me!"

Rarity rolled her eyes. "How horrid!" She exclaimed, sarcastically.

Applejack forced her to turn around, Rarity took a step away from her.

"To the public, I'm just billionaire Applejack Smith, but if they succeed in destroying my image then we'll all be in prison for the rest of our lives." Applejack explained. "Open your eyes, Rarity. Help me out just this once and I swear I'll leave you alone."

Rarity sighed in annoyance. "Alright, alright. I'll help you." She gave in.

Applejack smirked, snapping her fingers to alert her bodyguards again. A man came over to guide Rarity to her bedroom.

"Thank you for your cooperation, sugar." She said.
