Chapter 3

Two sentries stood at watch by the entrance to a room Applejack had made specifically for meetings. It was a medium-sized room with a long refectory table centered in the middle. It had many chairs surrounding both sides of the table, including the front and end. There was a projector screen attached to a wall to allow members to view pictures or documents while discussing.

Applejack was seated at the front seat. Rarity and Twilight sat beside each other on the left side of the table. Lastly, Rainbow had quietly occupied a seat on the right side, slightly farther from where everyone else was. She kept her gaze fixated on the table and seemed to be in deep thought. A clock was ticking every so often by the door, the minute hand striking to midnight.

"Braeburn, go retrieve Pinkie and Fluttershy." Applejack ordered.

Braeburn, one of the guards, nodded and exited the room in search of Pinkie and Fluttershy. It hadn't been too long when Braeburn returned through the door with the girls right behind him. Pinkie sat in the first chair at Applejack's right. Fluttershy took a glimpse of Rainbow before taking her seat across from Pinkie on the left. She made eye contact with Twilight and Rarity so she smiled slightly at the two, she was glad to see that the girls grinned back.

Applejack stooped against the edge of the table. "As you all know, I have an assignment for all of us to accomplish." Applejack began. She looked over to Braeburn. "Projector, please."

Braeburn jogged his way to the back of the room where the projector had been set up. With a press of a button, the projector displayed an image of two women on the screen. One of the women had vivid crimson hair, with yellow stripes. Her eyes were a moderate light blue, leaning more towards cyan. The other girl's wavy, purple hair consisted of aquamarine highlights and her eyes shone a periwinkle color.

"I'm sure you all can recognize Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer." Applejack spoke.

The other five girls nodded in response.

"I don't like Sunset." Pinkie claimed, "she's a meanie!"

Applejack ignored her cousin's insignificant comment and moved on. "Recently, the two have allied and now are planning to expose me to society." She explained.

Pinkie intently listened to her, seeming a little too interested. "Ooo!"

Applejack sighed, "I know some of you are wondering why you should even consider helping me after some past complications." She presumed, "the answer to that question relies on the results of this mission, if Sunset and Starlight succeed then all of us will be facing the consequences."

Applejack motioned for Braeburn. Another button was clicked and the screen had shifted to another picture. This time it was a large manor, similar to Applejack's. There was a grand fountain situated in the center of the property, in front of the main entrance. Leaning against the fountain was Sunset Shimmer.

"This is one of the many properties that Sunset Shimmer owns," Applejack says, "this one is right in the outskirts of Las Vegas, and is the very mansion that Sunset will be hosting a banquet in. To outsiders, it seems like a nice dinner party that they were invited to, but really Sunset will be making a surprise announcement to which she will reveal me to the public."

"Told you she was evil!" Pinkie interjected, licking a lollipop right after.

"Where did you get that from, darling?" Rarity inquired, curiously eyeing the candy.

Pinkie giggled, "I have hiding spots all around the mansion." She answered.

Applejack slammed her fist on the table. "Enough! Do any of you even care in the slightest?"
