----Isaac Lahey----
I blankly look at the black board because this economics class is boring. No one ever pays attention in this class. As long as people read the chapters the tests are easy to pass. I am also relieved that I do not have to block out Desai who tries to talk to me. I tell myself everyday that I am going to forgive her but as as I see her I forget. I don't know what is wrong with me. Usually. I would have forgiven her already.
"Alright, class, read chapters eleven and twelve." Coach instructs then sits at his desk Lacrosse players, meeting tomorrow morning." He announces.
The final bell rings and I walk out of the classroom to Scott's locker. I need to keep away from Desai for a little while longer. Every time I think about her and James being in the woods by themselves my bloodlust flares. I just can't believe she went behind my back. Well, she did not go behind my back because she told me about it. The point is that I was not there to protect her when he was getting out of line. I don't know whether to believe that she did anything with him. I could just listen to her heart rate but I always get angry and forget to do so.
"Isaac, you have to get over it." Scott says while he stuffs books into his book bag "I don't believe that Desai did anything with James." He smirks.
"Of course, you don't. You don't see the way he at her because she's not your girlfriend." I point out. Scott had no idea how angry I get when James is around "I swear I could kill him." I lean against the locker.
"Well, don't." Scott zips up his book bag and stands to his feet "You'll only make the chaos that is going around here worse for us." He closes his locker.
Scott and I begin to walk down the hall to the exit when Desai stands in front of us. I immediately roll my eyes at the very sight of her. I just don't understand why she cannot give me some time to cool down. Every time we have been together recently has ended in one of us being angry which adds stress. I will talk to her when I feel like talking to her and that is not going to be any time soon.
"Hey, Dee." Scott greets.
"Hey, Scott." Desai greets then turns her attention to me. A frown comes to her face and when she sees that I am frowning at her "Hey, Isaac." I roll my eyes once again "So, you're still not talking to me. It's been a week." Her voice cracks slightly "Come on. Can you at least acknowledge me, look at me at least...I said I was sorry so many times. I don't know what else you want me do." Tears brims her eyes and she looks at the ground.
My heart nearly drops to my stomach when I see tears come to her eyes. I cannot believe that even seeing my girlfriend on the verge of tears that I am still not going to talk to her. I stand here with a stern face even though I want hold her in reassurance.
Desai sighs sadly then walks away without looking up from the ground. Scott pushes me roughly and I grab my arm in pain. I look over at him. He has look of disappointment on his face. I smirk at him because I don't care at the moment.
"Isaac, you're being an asshole. Don't you see how much this upsets her?" Scott furrow his eyebrows at me "Get over it!" He scolds. I know he is right but I still have my reasons "You need to talk to her because at the rate you are going its going to look like you want to break up with her." Scott fixes the straps on his shoulders.
"Maybe I do." I don't.
Scott shakes his head in disbelief because he knows I am full of shit. We both turn our attention to Desai who is now at the end of the hall. Suddenly, Hayley and James step in front of her so she cannot go anywhere. Scott and I look at each other in curiosity then turn our attention back to them.
"Seems like Isaac has lost interest in you, huh?" Hayley taunts knowing it would upset her "I don't blame him. You can be a huge pain in the ass." She chuckles.
James nods in agreement "I mean he hadn't talked to you all week." James shakes his head in false pity "Maybe I can finally have my chance." James smirks then sucks in a breath "No, I don't want it anymore. If that idiot sees something wrong then there must be."
I place my hand on my stomach when I feel Desai's mood chance from extremely sad to extremely angry in less than two seconds. James knows better than the two of them that Desai has a short temper. Sometimes, she doesn't care that she has an anchor and will attack without a doubt.
"You're chances are just as open as hers." Desai growls in calm anger "Now, move before I rip both of your heads off." Desai hisses harshly.
"Desai, you forget who has the upper hand here. Remember, we work for your mother so if we hurt you badly it will not phase her one bit." James points out.
"Then how about you, her and my mother go to hell and get out of my fucking life." Desai balls her fist tightly in frustration "The fact that you're telling me things I don't give a shit about isn't helping anyone." Desai growls.
"Oh no, we've made the poor puppy mad." Hayley coos. I can hear Desai's breathing get heavier which means she is getting pissed by the very second. Her claws slowly start to come out as they keep taunting her "Go ahead, you're as good as dead anyway." Hayley smirks smugly "Oh, and another thing..."
Hayley whispers something in Desai's ear that makes Desai picks up both of them by their necks. Desai throws them against the lockers then pounces towards them. Her eyes are yellow and loud growls comes out of her mouth. Scott and I quickly run down there but stop when Hayley pulls out a tazor. That does not seem to phase Desai because she keeps walking towards them. I honestly think that is built up anger about this whole situation and partly me.
"Keep walking and I swear I'll make you watch your brother be killed by me." Hayley warns. She knows that Desai would do anything to keep Ashton safe from them "Try me." She turns the tazor to a higher power level of power.
Desai eyes flashes from yellow to blue and then yellow again. Hesitation is never a good thing when someone's life is being threatened. Usually at the mention of Ashton Desai would just stop. It's different this time because Desai knows just as well as then that Ashton is just as safe as she is. Anyone in their way is going to get the worst of it. We all know this and the fact that Desai is almost at the height of her breaking point doesn't matter. She has already lost her parents, she hadn't talked her friends, and I am not making it better. Desai figures that she is probably going to be by herself at the end anyway so why not risk it.
We're not going to let her do that...
Desai stops. Her ears perk up she hears our footsteps coming towards her. Desai quickly transforms back into her human form and storms out of the school. Scott and I stop in front of James and Hayley. They look at each other then at us as they get off of the ground. Hayley looks me up and down while she licks her lips. James glares at me and I return the favor.
I can feel the anger boiling in me from what they are saying to Desai. I might be stubborn but I am not heartless. The fact that they threatened my girlfriend means that have crossed a very long line. Desai was minding her own business and they just had to make it worse. Of course that is what they do. When they see an opportunity to taunt one of their victims they jump on it. Even if it does not work in their favor they are trained to do so. These kind of people know exactly what to say to get under your skin without a second thought.
It's just how they are.
Hayley and James look at each other with a triumph look in their eyes which pisses me off greatly. They know that for now they have the upper hand and we have nothing to back ourselves up.
James smirks at me "Trouble in paradise." James laughs and I bite down my lip "Too bad, I could have easily tamed her." He winks at me. I go to jump at him but Scott stops me "Whoa, I see why Desai chose you; you'll be a good distraction while she gets away. Word of advice:" He steps closer to me "the angrier the werewolf the more fun it is to kill." He whispers.
"You know nothing about Desai." I growl at him "Keep her name out of her your mouth." I ball my fist up.
Hayley shakes her head and kisses her teeth at me "Desai is such a fiery girl. Too bad she doesn't have much time left." Hayley chuckles in amusement "Maybe if you're still around you can take me for a spin." Hayley says seductively.
They walk away from us while Scott and I look each other worried.
