Gabri doesn't jump from relationship to relationship because he wants too, he just loves hard and he falls fast. However, his relationships do last a while. Its rare he isnt like intensely dedicated to someone. He takes as good of care of his partners as he can. When Dana cheated on him, and with Miguel of all people it actually fucked him up like no relationship had before. In the past, his partners were always cool with him. They liked Gabe for who he was. And Gabe liked them, for a while. However Dana was different. He could imagine actually marrying her and spending life together with her. And for her to so obviously like him for his brother really hurt.
It ruined his self confidence, and when he got with Kasey and she only liked him because she thought he was spiderman it also did some serious damage to his self confidence. He hasnt been with anyone, or done much of anything in a while because of those two. He was still genuinely in love with Dana. He was happy she was happy and tried to move on. Her death was a breaking point though. He genuinely doesn't believe he can love anyone like he loved her. Gabri has kind of just accepted that he isnt gonna find love. It doesnt exist if she doesnt. And those feelings are ones she also feels.
He hopes in the next life she's there, and he's good enough for her. He hopes he's good enough for someone. But, for now Firelight and his girl are happy. Although, that's still in a made up universe with made up things.
